And hiw can u say that its a scam ? Do u have any knowledge of tax ? Do u know on which services of shipping companies sales tax are applocable and on which they r not ? Do u know what is the role of auditor with respect to payment of sales tax and reporting ?

Kindly dont commentbon the subject u dont understand ... our jounalists are mainly involved in yellow journalisim ... i lnow for sure that AFF with the control structure they have cannot be involved in any fraufulent activity ... is the best audit firm of not only Pakistan but in the whole world ...

Try understanding accounting and specifically tax consultancy.

If an audit firm fudges the audit report then name on ECL is warranted but if consultancy is provided that has no legal implication in white collar crime / tax evasion then putting the consultant on ECL is not warranted.

Consultants provide expert opinion/advise, that's it. The decision maker and execution of policy is done by the owners or banks. And those latter are responsible for crime if committed.

anyone who is remotely related to the Field of corporate Taxation, even those who are in the field of Finance and Corporate Reporting and not Taxation know what Kind of Institute FBR is. They will send you a notice demanding say 1,000,000 Tax citing a combination of some obscure this this and this sections. Upon contacting the Officers through your consultants they will offer to settle the notice for 200,000 Rupees to be paid in government treasury if you agree to pay them 150,000 separately. Hence either you bear 350,000 Rupees or pay 1,000,000.
And their mafia is supplemented by Net of Private Tax Consultants who are middle men between businessmen and FBR Officers.
And I never understood how a 18th Grader can afford a 10 Million Plus Car and .2 million Cell phone With regular trips to UAE All the time, While we in Private Sector earning Twice as much as them (Officially), Working our Guts out 8 hours a day 6 days a week are always hand to mouth

Its simple ..my father was grade 22 officer and he couldn't afford a new car neither to educate his children outside or do dubai trips

But every 16th grade FBR police officers will have weekly trips to dubai..just look into every official assets and you will see 99% beuacrats are corrupt

I salute to your father & all those were the honest. People like your father are the real hope of Pakistan.

Then u must also knows that most of the receipts of shipping agency is reimbursement of expenses and actual income liable to tax is only a small portion i.e. commission income whereas for reimbursement of expenses shipping agent sends an expense reimbursement summary along with supporting documents that is not on sales tax invoice to which these journalists are calling benami invoices ...

Furthermore Shabbar zaidi is not an auditor but a tax advisor... a tax advisor always provide tax interpretation, implementation of which is responsibility of the client itself ... so even if some client is involved in fraudulent activity it can never be penalized on tax consultant by fbr ... on the other hand client can sue tax practitioner on providing incorrect advice ...

His own firm AFF has not paid tax since 2014..So yes no doubt in his skill set of avoiding and helping others to evade tax
