TATTOO,a reason for rejecting visa in UAE??

Is nt UAE and Oman are lenient when compared to Saudia and Qatar?

Lol
No I was serious.

Lol
Won't help because for visa renewal I'll have to go through a thorough medical checkup soooo.

Anyway Paramedics would be an Indian or Philipino, So no problem na

Hello everyone,

For sometime now I've been thinking of getting a tiny tattoo done on my wrist. But it's banned in the country(UAE) that I live in...or so I heard.
True???
Recently I heard that a guy(Indian) who had got a job offer in UAE was denied visa as he had a tattoo on his shoulder...this I heard from a reliable source. His tatoo was NOT a religious symbol or offensive in any other way.

I have often seen ppl flaunting their tatoos in UAE, so am baffled why would the authorities bar anyone from entering UAE merely because of his/her tattoo ?

Since am in India now, I thought I would get one done before returning to UAE. I will have to wait for another one year(when I return to India) if I don't get it done now. So that's one reason I decided to post this thread.

I hope members here will be able to help me.

@mods I posted this thread here to get more response.

I can't answer the question as regards UAE immigration rules but I certainly think your adventurous in thinking of having a tattoo done. These are quite common in UK and I have had the pleasure of seeing some great artwork on some ladies in the most exquisite of places.

I did often think of having it done myself however never got around to it and now at my age I think it's probably time to give up on these things. What sort of tattoo is it going to be?

And do let us see a picture of it. :-)

I have friends in Dubai who have tattoos, got more in India and went back, didn't have any issues.

Shouldn't be a problem.

Just curiosity...Those who will read this thread and post, will he or she please tell if he/she has got a tattoo and if yes then where and what is the symbol/signs.:)

I have tattoos that the UAE or Arab countries might find offensive, yet I've been to the UAE multiple times on business trips!! I've never heard that they even ask for it.

I came to know that this rule applies to airlines staff +Soldiers only. So I'll be exempted. :)

Compared to Kuwait and KSA, UAE is a very liberal country; I assumed Qatar and Bahrain to be as liberal as UAE.

I was in Dubai last week. I remember seeing a heavily tattooed white guy. Also, since you mentioned KSA, 3 years ago I was working on a project in KSA where one of the supervisors was a well-built filipino guy with a big lizard tattoo extending from his wrists to shoulders. Having said that, I hate seeing middle aged people with tattoos. Let's hope we never meet.

Make Tattoo on a body is not permitted in Islam. If you are Muslim then you can't have a Tattoo if not then feel free to do what ever you want (It is just a knowledge transfer post and i don't want to hurt anyone feeling)
