Taliban intel. intercepts - Is Pakistan winning its WoT?

MotherFkin POS - killing children is dying like a Shaheed?

More than Mullah FM I hate this man - I hope they find you and shove an AK through your *** till the barrel sticks out of your eye.

Establish a Pakistani Guantanamo and torture them, after they are to weak to walk, military experiments and medical experiments can be tried on them. :sniper:

.
Would you seriously want to go down the US route on this?

The image of Pakistan as portayed by India and its US ally may be poor, but establishing a Guantanamo would be the icing on the image cake if you want to cause a revolution in Pakistan.

Torture doesn't achieve anything. I'm a firm believer in it. If you believe it achieves something, I'll get you to confess to being Jack the Ripper and that you were Polish in less than 15 seconds, should you visit my waterboard setup.

As for Muslim Khan's quote, while it is abhorrent at first glance, the quote I read was this..

"Strikes should be carried out on their homes so their kids get killed and then they'll realise," Khan said on the tape which was broadcast on media."

This suggests the whole fiasco is in danger of spiralling out of control. It's all part of the redrawing of the borders in South West Asia. Pakistan (and Pakistanis) will need to wisen up, if they want to keep an intact country. That is the bare, scrubbed truth.

You have a guy saying "then they (soldiers, government), will realize". At base, he's saying, don't attack me, kill my people, else I will kill yours. From a psychological point of view, it's understandable, perhaps even a logical response. He sees it that the bombing is not necessary, yet he's being bombed to obtain more dollars from the US (his perception). That is his position, and none of us know whether it's true. His response, if true, is understandable in this situation.

The bombing will fail. The militants will return, just as they returned after the previous Swat campaign. The main hope is Afghanistan returns to normality soon, and Pakistan needs to ally itself very quickly with the Chinese.

.
"Could someone try to explain then what the various bombing in Afghanistan on civilians in markets and villages are all about then..."

I would presume he was referring to the Pakistan Army. Mullah Omar has been known to discourage his followers (and others) from attacking Pakistan and the Pakistan Army. Its not necessarily because 'we're Muslim' but because it would constitute a prudent strategic decision. And from the PoV of these Afghan rebels, there are non-Muslim Coalition forces in Afghanistan and not in Pakistan thus the violence there is justified and the resulting collateral damage (AKA civilian deaths) can be excused whereas in Pakistan there would be no purpose to this violence (i.e. expelling non-Muslim soldiers). All this I'm stating from their PoV ofcourse. Also, as much as I dislike them, the Afghanistan Taliban are not the only force in Afghanistan whose operations cause civilian deaths and who continue to operate despite such deaths. And if I have to choose, I'd say that the Pakistani Taliban are the more violent, brutal, mindless and crazy of the two with stronger links to Al-Qaeda. If the US/GoA is talking to Mullah Omar, doesn't mean we should talk to Mehsud too, no way. His kind deserves only one thing...and that is what comes out of the muzzle of a barrel.

No RR it is not understandable - it is not understandable because we did not fire the first shot. The GoP and the PA were not the ones whipping women for leaving their homes, beating men for not growing beards, beating children for playing games, and beheading anyone they felt like because of their diseased and paranoid minds.

There is no excuse, no understanding, no rationale behind his statement - except for pure hate and barbarism.

These people wanted Shairah, well they got Shariah, they got a ceasefire, and in return they continued massacring innocents and soldiers alike, and spread their violent tentacles to other regions.

There is nothing here to understand, there is no doubt over this man's hateful and Nazi like ideology and there is no doubt over his guilt, since he boasts of the atrocities committed at his and his leader's behest.

It was spiraling out of control when we were doing nothing - the GoP gave these degenerates everything they claimed to be fighting for, and in return we got more atrocities and an expansion through force.

No - things would be spiraling out of control if we had not acted when we did, because we may had to evacuate Peshawar and other settled towns, as we did Mingora, had we delayed.

This is completely incorrect and dangerous in so many ways. There is nothing 'understandable' or 'logical' about him wanting to murder the children of Pakistani service-men. Firstly, because your implied claim that the Pakistan Army 'murdered his children' does not apply. The Pakistan Army does not murder children to make their enemies 'realize' anything, they are not even capable of contemplating something like that. You insist on comparing the Pakistan Army to these inhuman degenerates, but it is incorrect. People do die ofcourse when there is war and insurrection, however that is nothing like the inhumane and planned murder of innocents and the cruelty these barbarians are planning.

Second, it is not a 'natural' 'human' response to want to murder the children of someone who has killed his/her children. Most people are honorable human beings who suffer loss and pain but never sink to this level. Think about it, would you or anyone you know really ever want to kill children, even if that child's father or his organization has caused the death of your family? Ofcourse not, the vast majority of people move on with their lives with their sanity and humanity intact. You're dramatizing and justifying the Taliban's methods and mentality and existence, thats all. How many soldiers and officers and innocent by standers have been killed by Taliban attacks I ask you? Tens of thousands, and yet do we ever hear that any family member of any soldier or border guard or civilian strapped explosives and blew themselves up in the middle of a busy Bajour or Mingora marketplace? No, because that sort of thing is NOT a natural human response. Resentment ofcourse is one thing ofcourse, but this...? And here you are justifying these evil men planning the murder of infants as 'logical' and 'understandable' and yet these people have caused more death and pain and loss to Swatis themselves than any operation ever could. They blow up the schools of their own children just so that it would intimidate the locals and embarrass the government and you are insisting these people, and their actions, have anything to do with humanity?

Your claim that it is his ‘perception’ that the Pakistan is fighting him for ‘dollars’ and not because he wants power and influence and conquest is hardly accurate. First of all this ‘perception’, if there at all and not just a method anti-Army folk use to justify insurrection, is retarded. If he and his friends behead service-men, storm police station, bomb cities, intimidate the population and challenge the writ of the government then what did he expect the Army would do? If the Pakistan Army is fighting for US dollars then is it reason for him to kill more citizens, bomb more schools and declare succession so that the Army has no choice but to bring their full wrath down on him and his fellow bandits? No, you would have to be an idiot to think that it is righteous indignation that motivates degenerates like him. This ‘perception’ is just foolish, dangerous, anti-state propaganda created by opportunist politicians (pretty much all of them) to use as a rant against Musharraf, and some politicians like Imran Khan still use it to legitimize their anti-Pakistani stand (I’ve heard him say that the Pakistan Army is ‘killing innocents for dollars’ explicitly countless times, so don’t give me the BS about him trying to discourage this perception).

These people and their actions should be condemned without reservation and without excuses, and those who don’t do so are only deluding themselves and our people and are largely responsible for our failures and shortcomings in this war. Not the fact that this ‘perception’ exists, but that they want it to exist and have had much success in spreading it is what weakens us.

Very well said, and it is a distinction some of us need to apply when analyzing civilian casualties inflicted by NATO during operations in Afghanistan as well.

Bloody good post, all of it.

The fire burned in my eyes too when I read that part aswell.
These people have no right to exist with their ideals and plans to inflict death and destruction upon all of mankind unless people agree to their demands.
I fully support our Army and I feel that we are gaining momentum and terrain on the Taliban, it's only a matter of time.
Let's pray to God that in the meantime, civilian casualties will be limited and that suicide attacks will be intercepted and that our ISI will work twice as hard to intercept and avoid more bombing blasts.
Let's hope that for once in our history, luck will be on our side.
Because if we WIN this war on terror, this war on these bastards, the Army and government will win the hearts and minds of all people and Pakistan will be unified even more then that it has ever been.

. . . . .
And hit homes of the security people, kill their children. It’s up to you to die like shaheed or die like ordinary

youn Bacho ke Qatal se wo badnam na hota
Afsos k feroun ko Collage ki na soji

I think before they try to target childeren , every body studying in collage or university should be hired to support our Army in its ops against these brainwased & sick people . During the WWII the US and its European Allies did the same. They sent every collage and university student at the battle feild.

Pakistan's Taliban rising? Ask the women.
In a sign of growing militancy, threats against females are swelling in cosmopolitan Karachi.
By Huma Yusuf | Correspondent of The Christian Science Monitor
from the May 26, 2009 edition

Karachi, Pakistan - Noor, a college student, has sworn off wearing jeans. A week ago, while she and her friends were browsing at a boutique on Zamzama Boulevard, Karachi's elite shopping district, two bearded men entered the store. "They told us to have shame and only leave the house with our heads covered," she says. "Before we could say anything, they added that no one would be able to keep us safe if we didn't obey."

Like Noor, many young women in Karachi are starting to dress more conservatively. In the past month, they have been approached by men and told to cover themselves from head to toe or stay off the streets. City officials, who have been raising alarms about the "Talibanization" of Karachi for almost a year, connect the increased harassment of women with the rise of militancy.

The warnings have caused a panic among upper- and middle-class women who have long enjoyed the liberal environment of Pakistan's most cosmopolitan city, where the fashion industry is thriving, female employment is on the rise, and the literacy rate of 65 percent far exceeds the national average of 46 percent.

While no physical attacks have been reported, some women have been threatened at gunpoint. Others, like prominent activist Attiya Dawood, have had eggs thrown at them while walking through residential parks.

Female students have also been targeted. Private, coed institutions have reportedly received letters signed by the Taliban warning them to close down or segregate their students, or face the consequences, which might include the kidnapping of students. When approached, school administration officials refuse to discuss the situation, with some arguing that it is better for their students' safety to be kept out of the media.

But Ahmed, an Advanced Level student at the city's most prestigious high school, the Karachi Grammar School, confirms that his school received threats. For a party last month it arranged separate entrances for boys and girls for the first time.

"At assembly, they warned the girls to cover themselves up and told us to strictly observe the separate entrances because the Taliban posed a real threat," says Ahmed, who asked that his full name be withheld.

This "fear campaign" against women and girls could be the fallout of a growing militant presence in Karachi. An English-language daily, The Nation, reports that Taliban commanders based in Quetta have relocated to Karachi for fear of possible drone attacks on their stronghold in the northwest. Indeed, on April 13, Badshah Deen, the right-hand man of Pakistani Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud, was captured in Karachi's impoverished Sachal area. He confessed to organizing crime, such as theft and kidnapping, to channel funds for militant activities in Pakistan's tribal and northern areas.

"The threats against women are a sign that all those of an extremist bent are coming into their own," says Karachi's deputy mayor, Nasrin Jalil. "People ... feel empowered by recent successes [such as the establishment of Islamic courts] in the northern areas and feel they have a license to approach Karachi's public."

In another sign of the growing threat, some businessmen with young daughters have received letters demanding that they keep their girls – accused of going out in public freely and dressing in Western clothes – in check. In some cases, the letters demand that men pay the Taliban cash to secure their daughters' safety.

That said, it may not be just the Taliban who are targeting women. "The Taliban are the most feared, so any group could be using their name," points out Kamal Siddiqi, a senior editor at The News, the daily that first reported that women were being harassed about their clothing. "But if the purpose is to create a scare and make society more conservative, it's working. Women are covering up and keeping a low profile."

Irfan Bahadur, the district superintendent of Sohrab Goth, a Pashto-speaking locality within Karachi where militants are suspected of seeking shelter, says that heightened militant activity has not been detected. "Many rumors have been spread to cause fear," he says. "But from what I can see on the ground, the situation has not drastically changed in recent weeks."

Still, women's rights groups are launching campaigns against these threats. "We are trying to make women realize that they are victims of a criminal act and that they must speak up and take legal action if approached," explains Kausar Saeed Khan of the Karachi-based Women's Action Forum. The group has asked police to take note of complaints and is petitioning the provincial government to establish a hot line for women who are targeted.

"Women feel like their freedom is being stolen," says Ms. Jalil. "But how can we provide them with assurances if the entire society is endangered?"
