What do you mean by no drone strike? People want US to do Soviet Union and start killing millions of afghanis? Its not like in Pakistan border areas where they can target few homes of taliban here and there with drones. In afghanistan it will be hard to find anyone who doesn't support taliban.

because AFGHAN Taliban dont operate in Pakistan, any of the photos with their white flag is guaranteed to be in Afghanistan. The others can also be assumed Afghan because of the military uniforms, and the humvees.

Besides militant groups have been completely crippled in Pakistan anyway, there is no way that they would even be capable of showing this kind of presence here.

These demonstrations occurred during the M/o October (2017) in a region near Iran. Nothing that a few JDAMs couldn't address.

For some reason, US was not serious in tackling the menace of Taliban in Afghanistan during the period (2014 - 2017). Obama administration decided to end major combat operations in Afghanistan in 2014 and restricted remaining troops to advisory roles. This relaxation facilitated resurgence of Taliban in the country. Might be deliberate.

Trump administration has wowed to defeat resurgent Taliban though. Time will tell if its actions will match its words or it is also playing games.
