They are still confused Pashtuns out there who believe its a war against Pashtuns , so in war of hearts and mind we have to win them too.

Believe me Indians agents are selling this war in Tribal area as war of Punjabi army on them , that's why PA has put as much Pashtun army officers in the front as possible.

As a Pashton...let me tell you that people who have no character will never be popular among my people. In Quatta people used to call Imran khan---Imran Khaa a disrespectful term that means lack of Pashtons character. I think Imran khaa is more people with establishment that want to use him for their purpose.

If TTPs are indeed the ones carrying out the slayings why many Pakistanis are still against sending troops? Care to make it clear?

No, I mean that many Pakistanis still feel that we should not have sent the Army into the region in 2005, when there were no attacks being carried out in Pakistan. Many Pakistanis feel that it was this US-pleasing act of Musharraf that has led us into this mess. In my opinion, that's only partly accurate, but my opinions are not necessarily shared by most Pakistanis.

Also, no, Imran Khan doesn't necessarily enjoy over-the-top support amongst Pashtun. I had a Pathan friend in UAE who's father claimed that the Pashtun dis-owned Imran Khan when he married a White Jewish convert woman over a Pakistani Muslim girl. If anything, support for him is highest in Punjab because of the relatively higher population of the educated middle-class.

There is no doubt he has done some good work in Pakistan. He "seems" more honest than most other politicians. However, we are discussing him as a mediator in negotiations. I, personally, don't mind him at all, I only mind his sometimes over-the-top anti-Army stance in everything. If he is the only mediator, the end result will not be very beneficial for Pakistan (just my opinion), however, I see no wrong in including him in a mediation team. As you probably know, I am all for the current Army offensive in the West, I see no alternatives to a complete surrender by the Taliban before any negotiations.

i think it would be incredibly imprudent on the part of the GOP if they don't avail such a fantastic opportunity to bring stability and peace to NWFP. Imran yes he may have some short-coming but these warlords and others aren't so perfect either. if they've decided to choose imran for such a task it must mean he holds influence and sway among pushtons. there is alot of disinformation that goes in this forum. I have lots and lots of pushtoon friends who support such an idea and they feel it would finally end the conflict and bring stability to our their region

and by selecting a person like Imran Khan will end alot dirty politic isnt that we want ? Or u dont want him to keep dirty politic ?

For me Imran Khan is our hope. He is not old minded as zardari and nawaz co who are third class leader.

Look at other countries like Egypt, Saudia Arabia, Iraq. How do they controll these countries ? Bu having there puppets as leaders.

Wake up and select new face like Imran Khan. W have tried PPP , ML-N ( nanga ) ML - Q ( Qanjar and Qamine ) and other all are in pockets of USA. There houses in dubai and england are ready so they can move there when ever needed.

Yes they are tired now and want normal life , TTP has to surrender and that's what Imran Khan has to convince them for sure.

Imran Khan is the only politician in pakistan that i dont hate. hes done alot for his country. and although hes lost some popularity recently for his views on taliban where i dont agree with him either. but atleast hes not being a lotta and saying stuff that people want to hear just to get more votes. not many political parties in pakistan would do that.

What is the basis of this?

Pakistan Army is comprised of people from all the parts of the country and there is no deliberate plan to place majority of Pashtun officers and Jawans on the front...we all bleed together...we all fight together as one...i know of many non Pashtun friends in Army who were injured and some who were martyred.

There have been martyrs from all parts of Pakistan and even the new group of officers from Baluchistan is amongst the list of the heroes of the nation...the Army is not divided on these provincial or ethnic lines.
