Taiwanese protest against Japan's rising militarism

Seems like The PRC has it's job cut out for it. Both seem to be against Japan.

To clarify, Taiwan (Taihoku) was considered sacred Japanese territory. And all Taihokujin (Taiwanese people) were all citizens of Japan, and awarded all rights as any other citizens of the Imperial Japanese Empire.

Many Taihokujin served in the Japanese Military, Imperial Colonial Government, and were even active in the industrialization of the entire Empire. It was common for Taihokujin to work in Japan proper, or even in Korea. Koreans were also working in Japan proper or even in Taihoku. There was a massive human migration throughout the Empire.

In regards to Taiwanese, Korean and Japanese -- they were all referred to as 'Kominka' or 'Subjects of the Emperor'. There was absolute equality.

Japan returned Taiwan to China, but we never talked about those Japanese @ Taiwan, maybbe we should send them all back to their land Japan and immigrate Chinese to the land.

Good to know! Here's to continued and perpetual warm and friendly ties between Nihon and Taihoku!

Yes, indeed. As I said, Korean culture is currently the reining king. On TVs, Korean and Chinese dramas outnumber Japanese. That used to be just the reverse in the near past.

Taiwan to commemorate victory over Japanese aggression
English.news.cn 2014-07-08

TAIPEI, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan leader Ma Ying-jeou said on Monday that the island will hold a series of commemorations of victory over Japanese aggression.

This year is the 77th anniversary of the start of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and 2015 will be the 70th anniversary of victory.

At an exhibition commemorating the end of the war, Ma said that any mistake can be forgiven while facts should not be forgotten, and memorial activities are "of absolute importance to Taiwan".

Non-governmental organizations on the island have held various events to review the war, including picture displays, and musical activities that paid tribute to veterans.

The War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression started in 1937 and ended with Japan's World War II defeat in 1945.
