Cause China is not stupid, we don't want a ruined Taiwan back, Taiwan alone is still the 20th biggest economy in GDP.
China also didn't take back Hong kong and Macau untill their leases were out in 1997 and 1999, do you think China didn't have the power to take them back from UK and Portugal earlier?

If the US army think they can relatively easy to defeat the PLA over the war in Taiwan, why then the US is not making Taiwan an independent country now, we all know what US real design on Taiwan are.

The US doesn't actually think it can easily win against the PLA, you are literally making things up.

They've already made Taiwan an independent country in every aspect except official. They don't do it because China threatened war.

Most US military exercises that simulate a Chinese invasion of Taiwan have shown that even if the US somehow won, they'd suffer such heavily losses that their dominance of the global waters would cease to exist.

Add the propaganda media and the magnitude of misunderstanding increases by 1000 folds.
