In case it was, no, not at all... but having a good coach, spl one highly regarded in the eyes of the playing squad, are generally a plus if they're good coaches too.
Coaching/mentoring and playing are very different things of course, but if there's someone really accomplished who can inspire a squad of men to go out and do great things, that is always a +.

They need to be a good cricketing side, not just a 20 slam bam side.. red ball test series, winning abroad.. that's the real benchmark. Survive 5 days in Perth, 5 (very chatty) slips, 2 gullys, a couple of noisy in your face fwd short leg and silli point, loudmouth keeper lol.. max pressure.
