PAF plane crashes in Turkey

Ankra: A PAF aircraft crashed during training near the Azmeer Airbase in Turkey Tuesday.

According to a spokesman, PAF Squadron Leader Masood Hussain had taken the plane from the Azmeer Airbase for giving training to Turkish trainee pilots when it crashed into the ocean.

He said any casualty could not be ascertained yet.

The spokesman said that rescue team had recovered some parts of the crashed aircraft from the sea while Masood Hussain and other trainee pilots could not be recovered till filling of this report. The rescue operation was underway.

Squadron Leader Masood Hussain was martyred as training plane crashed in Turkey.

A PAF pilot Squadron Leader Masood Hussain, on exchange posting to Turkish Air Force, died as his plane crashed on Tuesday while on a routine training mission with a Turkish under training pilot.

Masood Hussain’s two-year contract expired last month but it had been extended for one year by Turkish government in recognition of his services.

İzmir: Funeral services for Pakistan Air Force pilot Squadron Leader Masood Hussain were held at Izmir Airbase on Monday at 4.00 p.m.

As a mark of close relations between Pakistan and Turkey and high esteem and respect for the Shaheed officer, Turkish Air Chief Gen. Mehmet Ertem specially flew to Izmir to participate in the funeral services. Land Forces Commander of the Aegean Region, Izmir Air Base Commander and all officers of the Base paid homage to the Shaheed officer. The funeral was attended by Gen. Recep Yüksel of Turkey’s Air Training Command, Turkish Ambassador to Islamabad Babür Hızlan, Punjab Provincial Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and ranking officers from the Pakistani Air Force. Turkish President Abdullah Gül and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan sent laurels to the funeral.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey H.E. Mr. Muhammad Haroon Shaukat, Defence and Air Attaché and officers of Pakistan Embassy also attended the funeral services. Masood had been training Turkish pilots for the past two years as part of a military cooperation agreement between Turkey and Pakistan. The Pakistani Major had the most flight hours among servicemen in his rank and Turkish officials had requested to extend his tour of duty for another additional year due to “outstanding service,” the report stated.

Wrapped in Pakistani and Turkish flags, his body was flown to Pakistan on a special plane. The Shaheed officer was on an exchange posting to the Turkish Air Force.

ASIA - Pakistani officer laid to rest as Turkish pilot's body found

A military funeral was held for Maj. Massoud Hussein Chhachhar, 35, who was killed in a training flight off Turkey's Aegean coast Jun. 16, in the Pakistani city of Lahore today.

Chhachhar was training Turkish pilot Lt. Serkan Sağır on a D-137 plane when it crashed into the Aegean Sea near the western province of İzmir, killing both pilots.

The funeral was attended by Gen. A PAF fighter pilot, Squadron Leader Masood Hussain, was burried in Okara yesterday with full military honours. An entire delegation of Turkish officers brought the body of shaheed.

o my GOD that was Sqn. Ldr Masud's funeral and that was his last journey that i heard some days ago in PAF base Lahore Cantt.
