T-129 Atak & Turkish Attack Helicopter Programs

If US sanctions stop 3rd party transfer to Pakistan of T129 engine what is alternative

Does Turkey have any indigenous programme?

I think it is impossible for TAI to carry out the contract for T-129 Atak helicopter deliveries to Pakistan. The whole announcement of this sale is probably nothing more than a propaganda tool for domestic politics of AKP; most people like me agree that the Turkish government was already aware that T-129 sales to Pakistan will never be a reality due to almost certain US embargo (or the US government pressure on the related company) but they chose go with it anyway since it will be a "Big Headlines" for the government's domestic propaganda. Anyone who happens to follow deals like this will certainly expect this deal with Pakistan to end up like T129 sales to Azerbaijan. The biggest downside is this will confirm that Turkey can not be a reliable military equipment provider for Pakistan and a massive prestige loss for TAI in the internation market (since nobody will ever trust TAI for a major military contract), because unfortunately currently and for many years Turkey's been sitting on American laps and does not have any long term preparation to extract herself from US domination (including military industry). Unfortunately, Turkey needs to gain its independence in certain critical technologies before being treated as a reliable and capable military equipment provider for the military market in the world. It is sad to say that US can singlehandedly stop any kind of Turkish military exports to be actualized, if she becomes serious about it.

Turkey can use ts1400 on t129 maybe delivery delay few years but agreement wont be cancelled.Pakistan suffers american ambargo for years. One more question "why would pakistan make a fake deal for akp government?"

And in which field we are not doing our preperation for us ambargo?

:laughcry: He amk Pakistan'da aptal ya olasılıklar konuşulmadı AKP seçimi kazansın diye tüm dünyaya aldık dediler.
Since T129 is appropriate for their use, it is a beneficial deal for them if it can be actualized. Lets be realistic, it was always known that USA will nullify this deal the moment Turkey and US are at odds; not even counting the obvious enmity of US policy against Pakistan. Wake up, Turkey and USA are not allies any more; no matter how much they try to cover it up by throwing "strategic alliance" narrative left and right, the reality does not change. There is a saying in Turkish "Taşıma suyuyla değirmen dönmez". It is better for us to accept realities, instead of blinding ourself; in order to not hit walls again, just like this one.

Wasn't 60th t129 Heli on production line? This mean we have engine for at least 20 heli. There are number of engines for t625 as well, So if TAI wants fulfill Pakistani agreement They can.

Only obstacles is Turkish army which isn't in immediate need of Heli Since they got 36+ T129 already, this should cover our needs for awhile.

The US needs turkey to remain reliant on its equipment for as long as possible

The US imposed economic sanctions , launched political and diplomatic fights went as far closing the embassies but the Pentagon always released a statement saying the militaries are on good terms

The US won't risk more embargo on turkey on military stuff as it backfired when turkey bought S-400 also such embargo means losing money and whatever leverage it has left on turkey

However on the economy front the US has much better and more effective options that Turkey can do little about ( retaliate with same effectiveness would be impossible)

The expansive politics along with our military ambition or projection of power aren't in harmony. RTE is shooting his mouth at everything and when the sh!t hits the fence you see what happens, our currency loses out to all other currencies. Instead of building up gold reserves of some 200000000000000000000 tons (Yeah I exaggerate) RTE thought he could give moral lectures and run his mouth on everything and everyone. We seriously need that indigenous engine to be ready within ½ -1 year. Otherwise the economic meltdown is going to cause mayor issues.

The same goes for many other projects.

Building a turboshaft is no small thing

How many engines does Turkey have left for T129?

It all depends on how much investment and resources Turkey puts into its indigenous programme, it will take years to mature
