Yes its far and deep but not too far and too deep. Defence plannings are always farsighted and planned ages in advance. India planned to have her own fighter planes more than 30 years ago and we still have not commissioned. Several years have passed when we decided to have Dassault Rafale and still it will take several more years to incorporate. It takes a visionary to plan things decades in advance.
And yes Siachin is our land and our forces are there to protect our land and interets.

We don't need the bases out side at very distant location ... I believe AC can serve our purpose to secure our interest..... Our military power(in proportionate to our economy) to be clubbed with foreign policy is enough deterrent for any adversaries......

Considering how open our defence institutions are about developments..i highly doubt this report. It would have been discussed and debated in parliament, talked about by DRDO spokesmen etc.
If we had Surya as early as suggested, we would not have developed and tested Agni-3 and then later Agni-5 during the late 2000's.
Besides this, a country which has rockets that can send probes to Mars..technically already has an Intercontinental delivery vehicle of 15,000km range . Just the payload has to be replaced by a warhead. The technology already exists. If the threat perception changes, it should not take India more than a year to convert our rocket technology to an ICBM.

It's a automatic transition from a5 to a6. There's no program called surya that exists right now. It will all be A series and K series henceforth.

The more ambitious ones will be the K series.
