This sounds like the reformation age of the Christian church to me. First there was the absolute Roman Catholic Church. Then came the Protestants headed by Martin Luther King who was excommunicated by the Roman Catholic Church as being "unchristian". Then came the smaller breakaway groups who were also excommunicated. In time to come, hopefully this reformation age of Islam will lead to a more tolerant and embracing religion like Christianity is today

Well am not sure why they took his body to this mosque which REALLY has issues! Gujji Indian Muslims BARELY allow anyone else in their mosque...even the Malaysian people who came to give dawaa' prayed at a different masjid and came to this 1 just to preach...shows how open these Indian gujji Muslims are...

The friends said Mr Mahmood’s family in Pakistan and his Pakistani passport verified he was a Sunni Muslim but mosque management said they did not have the proof at the time.

Chaudhry Khalid Hussain, president of the group that manages the mosque, Waltham Forest Islamic Association, said the allegations emerged only minutes before Friday prayer and that there was insufficient time to determine whether Mr Mahmood was Muslim or not.

I have read the Koran and 2 Sahih Hadiths. But never came across the term Ahmedi. Googled it up and now I know.
Let me draw some parallels. Lord Buddha, Lord Mahavira and Guru Nanak also came from the Dharmic fold. But they chalked out their own path. What they called themselves is not a matter of concern in my opinion.
