India Signs Spares’ Supply Pact With Russia for Sukhoi Fleet

According to defense ministry officials, it takes almost a year or more to import components from Russia which adversely affects the availability of the jet at any given point. Defense sources told Sputnik that a logistics hub will be set up in Bangalore where HAL assembles Su-30MKI.

Proposed logistics hub will also support the availability of other Russian origin fighters as well. Of the IAF's operational fighter aircraft, 75 percent are of Russian origin. This includes MiG-21, MiG-27, MiG-29 and Su-30MKI fighter aircraft.

"Serviceability of Russian equipment has long been a matter of concern. The long-term agreement will mitigate the difficulty being faced on this count," said Amit Cowshish, former financial advisor to the defense ministry.:disagree::disagree:

Any thing more :azn:

An what is exactly the point of copy pasting all of this?

Still, IAF remains the biggest crashing force of Mig-21s in post col war era. The trend seems to be shifting to the MKI slowly.

So long briefing, what it has connection with lost su 30,i think you wanna prove that chinese has a detail of every thing by india through this warfare,so they got the clue at right time and they had shoot down the jet,right....

This long briefing is just makes all of Indian nation and the allies of Republic of India that Indian Establishment is well aware what is happening on the ground over there. Situation is tensed and the Indian Airforce pilots have exhibited thier courage. Still i will wait for the Indian military command center statement which will be issued after keeping the regional and international situation too.

Of course. Chinese are envious of Ganged river
I will make that statement little more clear. I meant we are not fools to challenge PLAAF without any reason. Ok,sir?

Mirages of PAF are the real widow makers and flying coffins of the subcontinent.
Since 2012, 12 PAF fighter pilots killed in crashes whereas only 2-4 IAF fighter pilots killed.

so no word on it still ? last year IAF's An-32 was crashed in bay of bengal with 29 ppl on board. No word on it as well ..anyways that was a sea crash, much harder to locate but wreckage of Su 30 can easily be spotted from air (helicopter) despite of rough terrain.

There are lot of reasons along with the evidence but still Indian Establishment wants to maintain relations and avoid wars. Chinese Government is well aware that they cant prolong solving the border dispute with Republic of India.

Search And Rescue (SAR) efforts on Wednesday to locate the Su-30 fighter jet of the Indian Air Force (IAF) which went missing near Tezpur were hampered by bad weather.

“C-130 aircraft with electro-optical payload, Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) and Chetak helicopters of the IAF have been tasked for this mission. However, adverse weather prevailing at the area is hampering and impeding the operations. No breakthrough has been made till now in locating the aircraft and its pilots,” the IAF said in a statement.

IAF officials said SU-30 aircraft with recce capability were also being utilised for locating the missing aircraft. Apart from the aerial assets, four ground parties of IAF personnel, nine parties of the Army and two parties of State Administration have been deployed to conduct searches in the area.

Again BS due Know the Sheer Number Of how many Mig-21 Did India operated In since 1964 That over 840+
Thats half Of century And Will go To operation till 2025 or longer over 60 years We still operates 240 Something Today And its crashed rate is Improved Since 2011

And your Desperation Put MKI in Mig-21 Shoes I got that from you first comments India Operates over 240 Su-30s Since 20 years Now Out off them only 8 crashed If we count Latest
Number Will be Stretched To 322 As of Now in current orders Which will stretched to 350 due Make up to Squadrons

Even if We crash 8-12 in Next 20-25 years Of its Remaining Service years Its Not a Of big loss To Our big inventory And We are adding other Fighter To It in Future

Lets Say PAF Operated 84 F-16 And they crashed 9 of them that Is huge Loss And the Current relation You have With US Which are original OEM of F-16 Its More the relevant To say that Its more Of Risk for fly String Attached Fighter in Primary role in War against India Which is US Ally Now established by Security Pact.Tough Road ahead from here for PAF

Tezpur/New Delhi, May 24 (PTI) Helicopters and aircraft were pressed into service today by the Indian Air Force to search for the Sukhoi fighter jet that went missing with two pilots onboard over Tezpur in Assam, but bad weather affected the operation.

The IAF said the search operation was continuing despite overcast sky and spells of rains and thundershowers in parts of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh where the SU-30 MKI plane is suspected to have crashed. The aircraft went missing yesterday.

An IAF spokesperson said in New Delhi that a Su-30 aircraft with recce capability is also being utilised for locating the missing plane.

Apart from the aerial assets, four groups of IAF personnel, nine parties of the Indian Army and two teams from the state administration have been deployed to look for the fighter jet.

"Search and rescue operations resumed at daybreak today.

A C-130 transport aircraft with electro-optical payload, an advanced light helicopter and Chetak helicopters of the IAF have been tasked for this mission," IAF spokesperson Wing Commander Anupam Banerjee said.

He, however, said "marginal weather" (adverse to a military operation) prevailing over the area being searched, is hampering the operation.

The Sukhoi jet went missing after taking off from Tezpur Air Force station at 10:30 am yesterday. The plane, which was part of a two-aircraft formation, was on a routine training sortie and had lost radar and radio contact around 60 km northeast of the airbase.

"Till now, no breakthrough has been made in locating the aircraft and its pilots," the IAF spokesperson said.

A massive search operation was launched to trace the plane and the pilots, aged between 25 and 30, according to Lt.

Col. Sombit Ghosh, the spokesperson of the Army's IV Corps.

Sonitpur district Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar Deka said the Tezpur airbase was continuously in touch with the district administration.

The search was also being conducted in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh, he said.

The last contact with the plane was made by the IAF's Tezpur air control at around 11.10 am yesterday when it it was flying over Dubia in Gohpur sub-division of Biswanath district, adjacent to Sonitpur.

The first batch of the Russia-made fighter jet was inducted by the IAF in the late 1990s. Since their induction, seven crashes have taken place.

The country's frontline SU-30 MKI aircraft were deployed in the Tezpur airbase on June 15, 2009 for guarding the Sino- India frontier in Arunachal Pradesh.

At present, two squadrons comprising around 36 aircraft are deployed at Tezpur.

We had total 84 F16and we loss 8 in 34 years of which one was lost due catching fire on taxiway because of some bird goes in to air inlet so actual air crashes limited to 7 in 34 years i don't think its a big loss even these fighters were fielded against afghan and Soviet air forces during the 80s and now continued used against anti terror operation air raids, so do you think you any aircraft had face long duration war operated jets with similar success rate...think and answer

Which 9 crashed http://www.f-16.net/aircraft-database/F-16/mishaps-and-accidents/airforce/PAF

Number Of MKI Fighter We have is thrice the F-16 Numbers And Working Ours

We add 16 MKI each year To our inventory that Almost Raising a New Squadron Every year
So 8 Crashes in 20 years Is No Hard Ball If you have Number Like USAF and PLAAF
