Impression from the radar

We need a new radar immediately as the graphs clearly show that we are at least a generation behind irbis-e,,,,what will we do against an aesa is anyone's guess

Impressions on engines

I don't think we will change those but if half a chance comes upgrade this with product 117s of su-35.Its way better than al-31f and probably weighs even less producing 20kn more per engine.

"The 117S (AL-41F1A) is an upgrade of the AL-31F based on the AL-41F intended to power the Su-35BM, producing 142 kN (32,000 lb) of thrust in afterburner and 86.3 kN (19,400 lb) dry.[10] It features a fan 3% larger in diameter (932 millimetres (36.7 in) versus 905 millimetres (35.6 in)), advanced high- and low-pressure turbines, an all-new digital control system, and provisions for thrust-vectoring nozzles similar to the AL-31FP. This engine will have an assigned life of 4,000 hours and an MTBO of 1,000 hours.[11] The first flight of this engine was completed in an Su-35BM on 20 February 2008.[12] On 9 August 2010, Ufa-based company UMPO started supplying 117S engines (AL-41F1S) intended for Su-35S fighters."

For aircraft N011M has a 350 km search range and a maximum 200 km tracking range, and 60 km in the rear hemisphere. A MiG-21 for instance can be detected at a distance of up to 135 km. Design maximum search range for an F-16 target was 140-160km. A Bars' earlier variant, fitted with a five-kilowatt transmitter, proved to be capable of detecting Su-27 fighters at a range of over 330 km. The radar can track 20 air targets and engage the 4 most threatening targets simultaneously (this capability was introduced in the Indian RC1 and RC2). These targets can include cruise/ballistic missiles and even motionless helicopters. For comparison, Phazotron-NIIR’s Zhuk-MS radar has a range of 150-180km against a fighter and over 300km against a warship. "We can count the number of blades in the engine of the aircraft in sight (by the NO11M) and by that determine its type," NIIP says.

I think detection range against f-16 at 140-160 km is tad low and definite improvement is req

ELECTRONICS:

1)OLS-27(older variants of mki)
UOMZ :: optronic sighting system OEPS-27

"The OLS-27 (Izdeliye 36Sh) is a combined IRST/LR device for the Su-27, similar to the MiG-29's KOLS but more sophisticated, using a cooled, broader waveband, sensor. Tracking rate is over 25deg/sec. 50km range in pursuit engagement, 15km head-on. The laser rangefinder operates between 300-3000m for air targets, 300-5000m for ground targets.

Search limits for the OLS-27 are ±60deg azimuth, +60/-15° in elevation. Three different FOVs are used, 60° by 10°, 20° by 5°, and 3° by 3°. Detection range is up to 50km, whilst the laser ranger is effective from 300-3000m. Azimuth tracking is accurate to 5 secs, whilst range data is accurate to 10m. Targets are displayed on the same CRT display as the radar. Weighs 174kg."

2)OLS-30(new variants of mki)
The OLS-30 (36Sh-01), is an improved version of OLS-27 developed by UOMZ with a vibration-proof receiver, micro-cryogenic system, improved service life and new software. Perhaps also has TV channel. Range 90km in pursuit, 40km head-on. Possibly the same as Izdeliye-52Sh.

impressions:ols 27 is total junk and even ols with max range of 90 km is nothing in front of rafale ant ef typhoon with ranges in excess of 140 km

suggestions:upgrade

ECM AND RWR:An integrated ECM system turns on the warning units that provide signals about incoming enemy missiles, a new generation radio recon set, active jamming facilities and radar & heat decoys. It also includes an electronic intelligence unit, a chaff and flare dispenser and a RWR system. The RWR system is an indigenous product developed by DRDO called Tranquil (Tarang Mk2). Tarang is already deployed in IAF MiG-21 Bison and MiG-27ML fighters. Phase-I and Phase-II aircraft have SPO-32 (L-150) Pastel radar-warning receivers and no RF jammers. Latest aircraft are compatible with the Elta EL/M-8222 EW pod and so are the older Su-30MK/Ks.

IMPRESSION:change this too too

.
Now ppl i have provided everything i knew. Can someone pls explain the processors used and clock speed and performance of those, also the information on jammers is not clear to me

at least use ols-35
OLS-35

But i would suggest to go for something with qwip technology with range of 140 or more kms

Possible future radars for sukhoi 30 mki upgrade(super sukhoi)

1)irbis-e hybrid pesa

NIIP-Irbis-E-1.jpg

NIIP-Irbis-E-2.jpg

http://www.ausairpower.net/VVS/NIIP-Irbis-E-3.jpg
testing of radar
"The follow on to the BARS is the new Irbis-E (Snow Leopard) hybrid phased array, in development since 2004 and planned for the Su-35BM block upgrade, and as a block upgrade or new build radar for other Flanker variants, such as the Su-35-1. It will enter production before the end of this decade.

The Irbis-E is a direct evolution of the BARS design, but significantly more powerful. While the hybrid phased array antenna is retained, the noise figure is slightly worse at 3.5 dB, but the receiver has four rather than three discrete channels. The biggest change is in the EGSP-27 transmitter, where the single 7 kiloWatt peak power rated Chelnok TWT is replaced with a pair of 10 kiloWatt peak power rated Chelnok tubes, ganged to provide a total peak power rating of 20 kiloWatts. The radar is cited at an average power rating of 5 kiloWatts, with 2 kiloWatts CW rating for illumination. NIIP claim twice the bandwidth and improved frequency agility over the BARS, and better ECCM capability. The Irbis-E has new Solo-35.01 digital signal processor hardware and Solo-35.02 data processor, but retains receiver hardware, the master oscillator and exciter of the BARS. A prototype has been in flight test since late 2005.

The performance increase in the Irbis-E is commensurate with the increased transmitter rating, and NIIP claim a detection range for a closing 3 square metre coaltitude target of 190 - 215 NMI (350-400 km), and the ability to detect a closing 0.01 square metre target at ~50 NMI (90 km). In Track While Scan (TWS) mode the radar can handle 30 targets simultaneously, and provide guidance for two simultaneous shots using a semi-active missile like the R-27 series, or eight simultaneous shots using an active missile like the RVV-AE/R-77 or ramjet RVV-AE-PD/R-77M. The Irbis-E was clearly designed to support the ramjet RVV-AE-PD/R-77M missile in BVR combat against reduced signature Western fighters like the Block II Super Hornet or Eurofighter Typhoon. Curiously, NIIP do not claim superiority over the F-22A's APG-77 AESA, yet their cited performance figures exceed the public (and no doubt heavily sanitised) range figures for the APG-77.

The existing N011M series lacks a Low Probability of Intercept capability, in part due to antenna bandwidth limits and in part due to processor limitations. This is likely to change over the coming decade, with the Irbis-E, as customers demand an ability to defeat or degrade Western ESM equipment and the technology to do this becomes more accessible."

2)zhuk-ae radar by phazotron niir

Early unit with 160 units each having 4 t/r modules making total of 640.This was offered to india as a package for mig 35
Zhuk-AE-Aperture-1S.jpg

Zhuk-AE-Arrangement-1S.jpg

Zhuk-Diagram-1S.jpg

Data from 2008 regarding this prototype is
Dolgachev describes the current TR module parameters as such:

Average power of 5 Watts
Transmit path gain of 34 dB
Receive path gain of 30 dB
Receiver noise figure of 2.5 dB [2]
Phase shifter control increments of 5.625°
Amplitude control increments of 0.7 dB
Dynamic range for amplitude control of 24 dB
Overall PAE of 25%

Problem is that its NOT a solid state aesa but is liquid cooled so when the temp rises too much some of the modules shut down themselves.

New developments on zhuk-ae--------NEW MODEL WITH >1000 T/R MODULES CALLED AS FGA IS IN TESTING WITH ARRAY
DIAMETER OF 688 mm
