So meat prepared in west would be considered food of Ahl-e-Kitaab. I have seen slaughtering, they DO let the blood flow & animal is not killed by "Jhatka". Jhatka is just a bang at the back of the head\neck which they think stuns the animal so it does not feel the pain when they slit it's throat & let the blood flow=>>> that is what kills the animal. (though I don't agree with usefulness of this stunning method).

The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) said: Mention Allah's name and eat.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:The verse: "So eat of (meats) on which Allah's name hath been pronounced (Qur'an vi. 118)" and the verse: "Eat not of (meats) on which Allah's name hath not been pronounced (Qur'an v. 6)," were abrogated, meaning an exception was made therein by the verse: "The food of the people of the Book is lawful unto you and yours lawful unto them. (Qur'an vi. 121)"
