I understand what are you trying to say. Aren't you the person who propagate the theory that, Bengalis are anti-Pakistan because Bengalis are black. More black the Bengali is, more anti-Pakistan he is. You have met many black Bengali who were anti-Pakistan and also met few fairer Bengali who were pro-Pakistan. Another theory from you that Sylhetis accept you brotherly despite you are ''Obviously fair complexioned Pakistani''. I think the irony is that 80% or more of the Pakistanis I met (other than some rare Punjabi folks, especially women) are darker than I am.

Skin color is still important to many.

You go to the usual bigot in the American South or in Kentucky, for example and these uneducated folks could care less what shade of light or dark brown (mocha or espresso) you are, you are still a non-white foreigner to them (light or dark you are still not White). Fact.

Places in California are totally different and there is no color barrier. Maybe things are different in the UK.

My issue is that any Desi idiot who thinks they are better than another set of Desis because they claim as a group to be a shade lighter in their brown skintone - are ignorant, and this is laughable in this day and age. People who support this notion as legitimate are also laughable.

Every country in the subcontinent has light and dark people. No country is an exception.

Skintones are a product of sun exposure and climate. These kinds of discussions or claims are a red flag that you are conversing with totally uneducated idiots with no outside exposure other than their filthy backwoods mahalla, and you should stay away. I have seen some of these uneducated 'Safed' folks' lifestyles in the US and seen how they live. Please color me unimpressed.

Skin color and height change with levels of nutrition and lifestyle choices in a few generations. We have already seen this in China, Japan and Korea. You CANNOT judge people on skin tones.

I have discussed this with my gora American friends and they bemusedly commented that this mentality came from some sort of inferiority complex and trying to cover up other things, like lack of education and intellect, for example.
