On 23 October 1973, PAF pilot Flt. Lt. M. Hatif on deputation to Egyptian Air Force (EAF) was flying a EAF MiG-21 in a defensive combat air patrol (CAP) over Egypt when he was vectored towards an intruding Israeli Air Force (IDF/AF) F-4 Phantom. In the ensuing dogfight, Flt. Lt. M. Hatif shot down the Israeli Phantom.
So India should look in history our brave pilots have edge over those who had edge over all airforces so never dare to test their love for Pakistan we might have been in lot of issues some from our own mistakes but when united we are we are unbeatable unbreakable we have history of crushing mighty soviets in Afghanistan so don't push our limits
Wrong information mate, the PAF F-16 was never shot down by Soviets or through hostile action, while in thick of combat with Afghan/Soviet aircraft, the F-16 was hit by a stray missile from his own leader.Challenge accepted.
Can you provide total info on PAF kills against Soviets? I do know a PAF F16 was down by sovielts. I dont know the adject figure how many PAF shot down.
On topic: Salute to these brave pilots. PAF pilot training has always bern considered one of the best.

PAF shot down around a dozen aircraft including the famous Soviet SU-25 kill.
Well said.
Military history in the hands of pan-Islamists is a play-dough.
they can mix and mold in whatever shape.
This is an old beat up topic and thread. OP just had nothing else to support his morning coffee. Hence the revival of anti-Israeli discussion.
Saif-ul actually ditched Pakistan as soon as BDesh came into being. Thus shooting down any kind of Pan-Islamist crap that is being doled out in Pakistan today.
Peace
p.s. While we are at it, Our general ZiaulHaq is known for decimating Palestinian terror in Jordan. But Pan-Islamists in Pakistan would ignore and thus white wash the history.]
Israeli pilots are damn good.
And so are Pakistanis.
They should hold military exercises together. Why not!
Bhai JaanIts not about pan islamists buddy, I have athiest Pakistani friends, !!
It's really tough for Israel to hide the losses of any soldier or pilot in the field. Remember what happens when Israeli civilians or soldiers get kidnapped? It becomes public knowledge mighty quick and if it's really egregious Israel goes to war. So it's unlikely an effort to hide Israeli fatalities would succeed. Can you even think of a reason why Israel would try to do so?They are not and your pilot was captured died in hospital
U take things as they appear i think and dont bother to dig into things a little. When it comes to israel nothing absolutely nothing is as its told. It's really tough for Israel to hide the losses of any soldier or pilot in the field. Henry Kissinger in his memoir Years of Upheaval noted that during the cease-fire negotiations he brokered it was a primary Israeli concern to account for all their dead and captured and that the Syrians and Egyptians did so. So it's extremely unlikely that whatever uniform is on display could be genuine.
Now I have two questions: why is this story important to Pakistanis, and why does it seem to be a point of pride rather than shame?
