State Bank of India Named In 'Hall of Shame' List For Cluster Bombs Funding

ATK also works on cluster munitions like the CBU/87:

I know but SBI invested in the rocket subsystems part of the company or atleast this is what the article is suggesting. India's largest conglomerate is Tata group, they make common salt as well as hull for AH-64. What can one do?

Neither India nor the US (or Russia or China) are signatories to the Convention on Cluster Munitions:

Signatories to the Convention (blue) and States Parties (purple)

There's no irony, India doesn't have to abide by a convention it isn't part of and can associate itself with other non-members and their participating parts, like banks or contractors.

It's more ironic to bash Indian banks for having associations with cluster munitions exposed foreigners while failing to understand India is under no legal obligation to stop those activities.

...

I'll finish with this. Anti-personal cluster munitions are brutal and barbaric and like land mine, represent a long-term threat to civilian populations and I'm in favor of the US joining the abolition of their usage:

But against tank columns or vehicle formations, there are few better options then a system like the CBU-97:

And if they are to be retained, development on building-buster, low collateral damage cluster munitions like the CBU-107 is a quality step:

Unlike traditional munitions which cause hellish damage:

Weapons like the CBU-107 Passive Attack Weapon don't use an explosive, instead relying on kinetic energy to level structures without causing damage to the wider area.

It designed the FZU-39 Proximity Fuse found on said munition.
Awesome logic but any of these countries have state bank being partner in any of the project

Thanks for this pearl of wisdom. I was feeling tired after a long day. Took a screenshot.:D

Neither India nor Pakistan is a signatory to Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM). So neither India nor SBI has broken any international laws.

Before diving in head first to troll, atleast read the damn article.

SBI has been included in the list because of its exposure to Orbital ATK, a US-based company specialising in the design, manufacture and launch of small and medium-class space and rocket systems for commercial, military and other government customers. Orbital ATK is one of the world's largest manufacturers of ammunition and a leading supplier of precision systems and electronic warfare.
Congrats being guest some thing ,any of these mentioned countries does there federal bank is part of production ,stocking or any part of the whole process ,Fed/State bank is direct backing of Govt means Govt involvement so it raises question marks on the Indian State bank involvement in many of these black ops projects

Grasping at straws

trying to find some way to succeed when nothing you choose is likely to work.

. . . . . . .
Wow just one ?
And few posters taking the high ground, pls refer to this - CHINA 29. I am sure the cluster ammunition China is making will spread rice seed instead of bombs right ?

PS: It's not a bad idea !

1:29.. how it is hall of shame??? unless you have brain malfunctioning...

Reserve Bank of India is the Central Bank, not SBI. You are confusing SBI functions with your central bank, State Bank of Pakistan.

So you are saying state bank is commercial bank ?

Yes, it's a multinational banking and financial services company. So, leaving out those US and SK banks which are mostly private, SBI is definitely just like the 29 Chinese govt owned banks that deals with commercial services.
