But India is a democracy isn't it? One that was promised to be secular that would protect the religious freedom of its citizens so the events like what Aurangzeb and others did won't happen?

As for Indian Muslims being "fed to the wolves"...don't look at us. There are hundreds of thousands of Muslims that are living in dire oppressed condition in Kashmir, Palestine, Syria, Myanmar, etc. Who is coming for their rescue?

Only together do Muslim countries stand a chance.

- the Muslim countries could've banded together and convince UN to send its peacekeepers
- or form their own coalition force and threaten action against Myanmar

The Muslim countries are fragmented...each having their own goal/agenda. This lack of unity makes them weak. The concept of ummah only exists in imagination. In reality if Indian Muslims were to be slaughtered(as they have been in the past...most recently Gujarat riots), u will find lip service at best. No one will be coming to ur rescue, not UN, not any Muslim countries. Though Muslims around the world may feel ur pain but they would be helpless to do anything about it. U guys will be on ur own and must help urself. This is exactly what the Muslims of the subcontinent did before in 1947. They knew no one would come to their rescue and helped themselves to a land of their own where they will be the majority and wouldn't live under the threat of "wolves". How many can leave? It would be a tiny percentage of Indian Muslims that can immigrate to other countries. No country would be willing to accept hundreds of thousands of citizens of another country. Not all will be able to leave.

We all know how much violence occurred during the partition. Gandhi didn't incite it, Jinnah didn't ask for it. All the leaders of that time were against the violence that occurred anyways. What would be different this time? Worst case scenario would be just as much violence...just as much killing...

The way I see it is that the Indian Muslims in the past let go of a golden opportunity thinking that secular India would work out for everyone. Now u guys only have three choices...
1) Hope and pray that theory of secular nation protecting the rights of its citizens works and live happily side by side with others
2) Quietly live under oppression. As more Gujarat like massacres happen...RSS like organizations get emboldened...more lynchings over beef, etc.
3) Put up a fight against that oppression...and take the fight to its logical end. Through hard work and sacrifice ensure that u can secure a land for urself where u will be free of these things.

Number 1 would be the ideal choice that all Indians should strive for...but the way the ppl of the subcontinent are it wouldn't work...this is exactly why the two nation theory came about. It's not that it's not possible, it just has more dangers associated with it. Here in US(I live in California), there are all kinds of ppl. ppl of different ethnicities, different religions, all living their everyday daily lives without things like the Gujarat massacre. It is theoretically possible for ppl of different religions to live under a secular gov that doesn't interfere with ppl's personal beliefs. More or less this has worked out in the US for a while now.

However it is not possible with the ppl of the subcontinent. That is as I described above, bcuz of the less educated ppl(not necessarily just in terms of school/college kind of education..."Jahil" would be a better term to describe them). They tend to be more narrow minded, unable to put themselves in the shoes of another and seeing it from their perspective, more convinced that they are "right". This kind of thinking/attitude makes them more ideal for anyone to come along and incite hatred against another group to further his/her own goals. This happens in Pak/India all the time. In India religion is just an additional factor where ppl can be easily divided in the manner described above and the danger with that additional factor is that religion is a powerful thing. Many wars/civil wars fought over religion in the world throughout history are a testament to that.

So it was for this reason that two nation theory worked best for the ppl of this subcontinent...in order to eliminate this possible flashpoint, which was likely to occur at one point or another.
