Sri Sri Says He Rejected Nobel Peace Prize, Calls Malala Undeserving

all babas are fraud...

I wouldn't go that far but yes, most of them are fraud-- especially the ones who are into excessive publicity. That kind of opposes the whole idea of being a sadhu- asceticism. There are babas who are quietly going about their lives without bothering anyone or wanting anything from anyone. Whether I agree with them or not, I respect them. As for Sri Sri, he even wants credit for India's win in cricket. lol

as to whether malala deserves it, nobel peace prize is a political statement.

I wasn't specifically commenting on that. People are free to have their opinion. I also think many other recipients of this award don't deserve it.

Well I totally agree on Malala part. There are many who get shot by Taliban. What's so big deal? Plus she is not living in Pakistan. All she is doing to becoming a propaganda tool. By giving her Nobel increases her value to create propaganda.

If everyone gets what they deserve all you people would have been my slaves

There was nothing that Malala did to get a Nobel Peace Prize. But then I wonder what did Obama do to get a Peace Prize?

Malala is just a darling of the west. She has lost a lot of credibility in the eyes of Pakistanis. There are much stronger people in Pakistan who have braved more difficult situations living in Pakistan.

There are children whose families have been killed in one drone strike. They dont get coverage. Malala symbolizes what west want to perceive the rest of world about treatment of women in Islamic society and west's stand on women freedom and education.

Just like every other Nobel Peace Prize, Malala's prize is a very political in nature. Nobel Peace PRize has gradually lost its credibility. Its more often a propaganda tool.

There is a retired policeman from my home town who is running a old age home.

Where ever he finds an old aged person anywhere, he picks them up and takes them to the old age home he is running.

He has no govt backing, It's just his social responsibility that helps him run this place.

On certain occasion I wanted to sponsor a good meal for all the residents. He told me that it would cost 2500 rupees to sponsor a nice meal, typical south Indian, including sweets etc etc for all the residents. On top of that he invited us to check the quality of food served to the residents. It was stunning. Made me realize the real value of a rupee in the hands of a non-corrupt person. Imagine it costs 2500 rupees for a family to watch a movie now a days.

I am sure there are thousands of people all of over India and world doing incredible work like this retired policeman...

Abdul Sattar Edhi was much much more deserving than Malala anyday.

I fail to understand what was so brave about Malala. She was a random school kid who got shot at for attending school. It was a sudden act, its not like she was told that they will specifically kill her and she showed her bravery by still going. There were thousands of other girls too who go to school despite warnings.

She was made a hero by Western media after she got shot. After that she is living a cosy life, attending press meets organized by west. Her solo aim is to demonize the status of education in Pakistan.

Did she do any actual ground work to deserve Nobel Prize? NO!!

In comparison, Kailash Satyarthi, who got Nobel Prize along with her was much more deserving. He spent his entire life for the uplifting of Child Labour. He founded theBachpan Bachao Andolan (lit. Save the Childhood Movement) in 1980 and has acted to protect the rights of more than 83,000 children from 144 countries. It is largely because of Satyarthi's work and activism that the International Labour Organization adopted Convention No. 182 on the worst forms of child labour, which is now a principal guideline for governments around the world.

I don't think the Nobel prize is about the individuals contributions alone. The peace prize is symbolic.

Malala symbolized defiance against those who use violence and threat of violence to stop girls being educated. This is a real problem in large parts of the world. TBH the girl speaks well, much above her years and has used her voice in support of many others.

Obama was a symbol too. When Obama's father first came to the US he was not even allowed to eat at some restaurants. For a black person (half black) to go from slavery and segregation from being treated on par with animals to the presidents office is symbolic of changes in race relations.

Did Nelson Mandela personally do so much to get the Nobel prize? Most of his adult life he was in prison, there many many others in South Africa that sacrificed their lives, were tortured and brutalized to end apartheid. Mandela is also a symbol.

These symbols were At the right place at the right time, when the west was looking.

All said and done, i fail to understand Pakistani disdain for Malala, unless it is some kind of face saving and pretending that the Taliban doesn't exist or do what they do.

Never heard of this man before but he is spot on about malala drama. Even thou he should have known better that these "peace awards" are highly controversial and are more politics driven rather than merit. I would add Sharmeen to the list of undeserving people of so-called prestigious awards, the westerners want to create these two puppet ladies as symbols to demonise Pakistan. Not saying that crimes against women don't exist but there are also millions of other Pakistani women who live happily.

Khatte angoor

I do not know whether he was offered the noble price or not but I am very sure that evenif only one person is to be offered the noble price, It should go to shri shri. I have seen his video of Iraq visit and pursued sunnis to consider shia's as their brother. he told that you have lived to gather and you now can not say your neighbors to leave. I saw some people crying and saying that they had for forgotten to smile. Even ISIS threaten Shree shree to not to come to iraq else they will kill him. The work Shree shree has done in unrested area of middle east is phenomenal. Noble price people will be fools if they do not confer shri shri the noble price. They will repent like they repent in case of Gandhi ji today.

So all the Pakistani extremists have found love for this weirdo because he said something against Malala.

He has not said anything against Malala. He simply said that she has not done anywork which deserves Noble price.
