Sri Lanka may stop preferential trade with India

China should be given a naval port in SL, meanwhile Pakistan should sell SL the JF-17 in defense agreement.

There are huge investment by China for Colombo port n Hambantota port, I know some incident about new Colombo port & China. It looks like China has a secret agendas too, Im not sure SL has given permission for that request by China.

That's funny. Now Lankans started "warning" us? Preferential trade is their choice. But small time military aggression cannot be tolerated all the time. We've been taken for a ride more than once. While MMS support US stand because of internal political constraints, for once the Congress did something right in 63 years.

It was not about the stupid UNHRC terrorist supporters ever. But you Lankans crossed the decency line with your Navy's rogue commanders coming in and shooting our fishermen in our waters more than 4 times last year. This had to be retaliated in some response.

You just got it. You want to be swamped with Chinese goods and be another Burma of 90s, be our guest and sit in China's lap.

If you are realistic and practical, your government would call off the untold aggression by rogue navy commanders in your military and build a friendlier environment.

The onus is on Sri Lankan people; to build a road to friendship or use subversive tactics and try to portray as the victim.

If your government is practical, the 'secret' agendas will not be pursued just for the want of punishing a few rogue commanders in your navy for their aggression against non-combatants. Nothing else is hampering our relations.

Srilanka import dairy products from india and with 70% of indian milk adulterated, SriLanka has more than one reason to shop somewhere else.

SriLankan traders can find alternative products and souce at no time. Better quality product than india produces and cheaper. Now a days most of indian products are adultrated

Nice way to convey nonsense. What's adulterated? Cars? Trucks? Vans? heavy machines? agriculture products? Industry chemicals ( that are used in dozens of countries without any complaints)? Medicines (ours, credited to save numerous lives in Africa and other regions compared to the killer costly European medicines)?

At least the Reds here have some industry facts to post any argument of theirs even if it is nonsensical at times, but what about you? Just talk through the false side eh?

I guess the Lankans know the quality of export milk more than a Jamaati sitting in US does. How about you let them find the complaints and debate rather than reading India's internal news and combining internal and international facts for your own twisted thinking?

According to the World Health Organization, 35 per cent of the world's spurious drugs are produced in India. Still, it is difficult to determine the precise effect on health because the person consuming the drug does not know that it is counterfeit.

China can provide everything India is currently providing and then some.

China can provide markets, investment, infrastructure, aid, loans, UNSC veto, capital markets, civilian technology, military technology, manufacturing, etc.

China and Sri Lanka have very close relations, if India becomes typically aggressive towards its neibours like Sri Lanka, Pakistan and bangladesh, all these countries will move closer towards china. India is a well known bully.

Don't think india is some big shot, India is being surrounded, and when Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh move closer to china, India will be surrounded from all sides.

It's great to see Sri Lanka ditching India, hope Chinese leaders are smart enough to grab this opportunity with both hands and put the squeeze on india big time.

China must always counterbalance Indian imperial hegemonic ambitions.
The Indian regime is a threat to world peace.

Sri Lanka don't need India one bit, as long as china is there.

Although I donot support GOI move on this issue...But in a different note....Who is stopping Sri Lanka from stopping all relation with India when China is there for him..Nothing as such will happen...Try it out....It is not a bad idea too....

in your waters ?
SL navy is operating in SL waters only.

Sri Lanka is not any country's pet. Countries we deal with is not India's business!

The waters are demarcated in Palk Strait region. I don't deny there's mistaken cross overs by poor fishermen but the killings have come in our side when our Coast Guard got there, your patrol boats scooted back to your side.

This may not be Sri Lankan government sponsored, but then you need to at least run a case against these rogue commanders who are operating outside Colombo's orders.

We don't care about your foreign relations or your government. Just keep that needless aggression down and we can be friends.

yeah, poor Indian fishermen do that mistake daily with hundreds of boats.

You realize that these fishermen carry no GPS and in no way is able to distinguish b/n India & SL territorial waters at high seas.

Shrilanka should hang these indian aggressors crossing over every day looting Srilankan property and who knows smuggling arms and what not. Srilanka had suffered for 30 long years for indian aggression and could not take any chance in the name of "fishing".

India's vote would not have affected the outcome of the vote, but India's influence did ensure that the resolution was not intrusive, while expressing concern over conditions for Tamils.

I think it is a good balance between Indian domestic pressure, humanitarian concern for SL Tamils, and SL sovereignty.

After the dust has settled, India will continue to have good relations with all sides, except the congenital haters.

Lankans need to be taught a lesson for mass murder on innocents they getting too big for their boots now.
