Sri Lanka backs Pakistan govt after Osama bin Laden's death

Sri Lankan Prime Minister D.M Jayaratne yesterday questioned into whether the killing of Osama Bin Laden by US forces in Pakistan was a violation of International laws.

“How can another country enter another sovereign state to kill a person on an order?

We never ordered to kill Prabhakaran. He died when the war was still going.

That’s the difference between these two deaths.

and sheltering a terrorist is as per international law ?????

this is the key difference between the two countries, india and srilanka, while indians in pdf spare no time bashing pakistan and thinking that violation of pakistani border and airspace was not criminal and srilankans are mature enough to realize this, indians support violance, while srilankas are peace loving, thank you lankans:tup:

No, that is not the key difference between the two countries. The key difference is that Sri Lanka did not have 200 of its citizens massacred by Pakistanis, same Pakistanis who planned the massacre roam around freely today plotting further attacks on India while the Pakistani administration does nothing to book them for the terrorism they inflicted on India.

Which is the bigger issue here? The breach of sovereignty? Or the fact that the world's greatest terrorist was obviously being sheltered in Abbotabad? OBL killed many Americans. 3000 were killed in the WTC strike alone. That does not count the Americans killed in embassy bombings in Tanzania and Nairobi in 1998, Riyadh in 2003 and others, all master minded by OBL. Was it wrong for the Americans to get OBL? Could they depend on Pakistan to capture him and extradite him.

This Sri Lankan minister is totally insignificant and what he said matters to no one. For all we know, he may totally deny saying it tomorrow and claim that he was quoted out of context.

He is doing it to curry favor with the Pakistani and Chinese establishment , otherwise whether Sri Lanka "backs " Pakistan or "applies" pressure on it is totally insignificant . Perhaps they did it under Chinese influence ,Despite what people may think "sincere solidarity and empathy " is no reason for a statement ....

Sri Lanka has an enduring, multi-dimensional and deep-rooted relationship with Pakistan. The long-standing ties of friendship between the two countries are underpinned by mutual trust and confidence. A close identity of views and mutuality of interest remain the hallmark of bilateral ties.

Pakistan has always supported Sri Lanka on all issues of importance to the latter, especially those related to the of Sri Lanka's sovereignty & territorial integrity.

Pakistan supported Sri Lanka through thick and thin. In 2000 during some setbacks, Pakistan delivered unlimited military aid to Sri Lanka.

Our PM expected to visit Pakistan, later this year……..

Focus on above statement guys!
Ending a terrorist leader is great, I support it coz I have experienced it for many years. If US conducted this operation without getting permission from Pakistan, it's clearly violating international law.

and a mass murderer,a international terrorist living in mansion near a miliatary academy probably with support of some pakistani defence personnel is not breaking international law??

oh yeah, we do everything and the indian side is totally innocent. . .

Well the bhartis are clearly enjoying the American finger on their as*es.... Let them enjoy the moment

Even the sun shines on a dogs as8s some days

Dude, havent you been reading news lately? OBL was killed by US sp. forces in Pakistan, right next to its Military Academy! Who fingered whom is clearly evident! FYI, India just rejected US aircraft in MMRCA tenders. GO figure.

Why are we making such a fuss about some governments supporting Pakistan. These governments are clearly supporting the civilian government of Pakistan, which infact even India supports (one of the main reasons for not carrying out those infamous surgical strikes - so much for all that chest thumping bravado by fanbois). There is another more powerful, all controlling, out-of-sight power center in Pakistan and that is its military establishment!! It is this military establishment which includes the infamous ISI ("rougue elements within" - whatever that means) who are responsible for the crimes which Pakistan currently stands accused of. I forsee this particular power center defanged in the near future after the war in Afghanistan is over!!
