Sri Lanka Air force Two Kfir jets Crashed Today

Unfortunate accident. But good that the pilots were able to safely eject. Now the inquiry will be able to explain what happened.

Negative, they're going for New Mig-29s not even refurbished one that russia is offering to the 3rd world to get rid of them. When the deal will be finalized, how many of them and delivery starting date is unknown. Most likely These Mig-29s will replace Mig-27s even though Mig-27s are for ground attack role but poor maintenance and accident record could send these jets to storage for good.

Along with them the ideal replacement should be in the form of JFTs replacing Kfirs and F-7s but unlikely before 2013/2014, how many that is up to Sri Lanka's defense budget.

None that they can defend against.

It would cost them too much to buy them in good enough numbers.

These are used Mirages 2000 they would be ideal for the Lankans because they have barely been used by UAE and im sure they can cut some sort of deal
