This needs to escalate from one meeting to a new non-NATO block. Iran, China, Russia and Pakistan together would be a formidable force.

And as the US will continue to cozy up to / coddle / pressurize India to build it as a buffer against China in the region, things between India and Russia will not be as good as they are. Of course cooperation won't magically end and India will remain a large market for arms, but Pakistan has a good opportunity to build strong ties with Russia especially against Takfiri types.

LOL in other words, the Yanks are caught up in a web of complexities. The US is a country that goes around barking all day long about Iranian sanctions, but at the end of the day it can't even fully implement them. LOL at the waivers.

Intelligence officials of Iran, Russia, China, Pakistan hold talks on ISIL

TEHRAN, Jul. 11 (MNA) – The top security and intelligence officials stressed the need for a more active inclusion of regional powers in the efforts to settle the conflict in Afghanistan, according to TASS news agency.

Heads of intelligence services of Russia, Iran, China, and Pakistan held a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday to discuss the measures against the threat of aggregation of ISIL militants in Afghanistan, Russian TASS news agency reported.

The discussions focused on the dangers arising from a buildup of the terroris group on the Afghan territory.

"The conference reached understanding of the importance of coordinated steps to prevent the trickling of ISIL terrorists from Syria and Iraq to Afghanistan from where they would pose risks for neighboring countries," Russian representative in the meeting Sergei Naryshkin told TASS.

The top security and intelligence officials stressed the need for a more active inclusion of regional powers in the efforts to settle the conflict in Afghanistan, TASS report concluded.

These type of meetings don't make it to news. Every source is pointing at Russian report so that means Russia is trying to convey the message that there is block in place to repel any ill intentions.
