It's pretty interesting how Britain, France, and the U.S. have kept a bunch of little islands around the world under their control. Especially in the remote Pacific.

Oh yes, I forgot the likes of the US Virgin Islands, American Samoa etc.

The two reasons I'd put forward as to why we see the trend you outlined above i.e. control over small island territories is because firstly, all three nations were and still are great seafaring nations. So these regions are a knock on from when they were used as staging ports for control over territories that were further away, and they also hold strategic value.
Secondly as these territories were so small, and therefore would find it hard to build an economy, they decided to stay with their mother countries.

Yes i red it on news recently. Many of our people here dont even know about such a dispute to be honest and we dont care at all. Bar a war(which will never happen) like the one in falklands, nobody will ever bother about this dispute. The common british person doesnt even know we own gilbratar nor do they care that much(apart from going to holidays over there and enjoying the sunny weather).lool we are not asians that get so emotional about territorial disputes.

It was and will remain a british overseas territory like the falklands, Diego garcia, Cayman islands, and many other british overseas territoey we have. FULL STOP. The rest is just little trivial issues which doesnt and wont ever change anything. Except we take pity and decide to give these territories to countries we want. Apart from that nothing much , so everything depends on 10 downing street.

How much forces do you British have in that area

According to estimstes , there are about 4000 U.S and British military personnel(Including contractors). However the exact number of each is unknown, as our forces/governemnt both keep the base off limits to any outsiders be it journalists tourists or whatever. There are no natives on the islsnds nymore unfortunately, as our governement all deported them to sychelles and mauritius, its for their own security though, as we use the base exclusively as a military outpost.

I hope india is not worried about our presence/patrols in the area? Just for world peace and stability you know.

You do know Spain ceded (as in handed Control of) Gibraltar to the Brits since 1713 via treaty of Utrecht. And that it was a Spanish Colony before British administer control....

That's not the whole story. The treaty of Utrecht only applied to one part of the island and that's what was legally ceded to UK, but later the UK took over the rest of the island and expelled the inhabitants and that's why Spain does not recognized UK ownership of the island, not of the full island at least.

Technically speaking, the Treaty of Utrecht only cover the British Base build on Gibraltar, much like the treaty ceded the Hong Kong from China (Hong Kong Island and Kowloon south of Boundary street are ceded to the UK while New Territories are rented from China)

Correct, just the base, port and fortifications which is about half of the territory.
