Falklands already did decide and in a referendum they voted to stay with UK
the people who had issues had to answer to the Royal Navy
you can ask them what happened in 1982
Yes they did decide and their choice should be respected.
But the native americans or aborigines werent given that choice when they were plundered and genocided.
Lets face it, in reality nobody cares about polls, no country care about any others than themselves. If you were a argentine you simply would see falklandians as illegal aliens who happen to have protection of its mother vessel.
I am all for democratic vote but dont pretend like its a mantra you live according to. Because you dont. The British Empire is a witness to that. Even today you occupy faraway territory. British army has bombed and invaded Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya since the turn of the millenium, without any legitimacy in any poll or whatsoever.
Why dont colonial nations have the guts to actually be honest and say that they know what they did was wrong but they killed and raped foreign nations anyway because that made them feel superior.
