South Korea: Bollywood’s Future Market?

I'm sorry, did you spend 2 years of your life in Korea?
Because I sure did :)

The only time I ever saw Bollywood was in Indian restaurants.

thats what happen when people start commenting without even reading the article n on top of that they r receiving thanks from the THINK TANKS of the forum...

.
oh plz......i know what he ment exactly........to trolllllllll...

It's called reality check and it's clear Indians can't handle anything that pops their bubble.

U slimy hypocrite, here is ur local conservation culture and films...

That only shows how much you know about Pakistan.

The Lollywood of recent decades is a complete failure. The movies are considered vulgar ****, not suitable for family viewing. That's precisely why Bollywood thrives in Pakistan because, unlike the morons in Lollywood, the Indians carefully calibrate the intensity of their soft **** to keep it 'respectable' for family viewing.

.
Pakistan doesn't have our permission to watch bollywood. They should stay away, they are not welcome to watch our art.

.
Thanks for proving my point:

i told u can't help people with narrow mind set n prejudicial thinking...
only had u seen the remaining videos i had posted after watching the first one u would have understood how wrong ur point was but never mind rather u were the first one to not only thank but also to quote Rusty's post who had absolutely no idea what was the article all about like urself Mr.THINK TANK...:)

Rusty echoed the same sentiments as Korean. And I explained why both of them were right.

You just don't want to accept reality -- that Bollywood remains, and is destined to remain, a niche market in most of the world -- and that's your choice.

Its the second largest film industry in the world by revenue. Hardly a niche market..

More importantly, I hope you realize how dumb you sound dealing in absolutes. Nothing is destined to remain a certain way. Bollywood itself has majorly transformed in the last few decades.

:rofl::rofl:So you said we only make soft **** and now you modified ur views saying Bollywood make soft **** in such "calibrated" manner that pakistani family audience rush to watch them .

Buddy if pakistani men & women can't help watching Bollywood soft **** then good for them and good for us.

TTopic title is: South Korea, Bollywood's future market.

Your past experiences in Korea barely have anything to do with the topic at hand :coffee:

Spare the TANK, buddy . He is confused now. Bollywood has started making impacts on east Asian markets, In north, China is a good example where 3 Idiots's success will give a very good chance for good future bollywood flicks to make inroads.

This is what Bollywood is doing. Burn!

Korean was fully aware of what was the article all about n he was sharing his views as Indian members asked him his views on the topic while Rusty was just shooting in air which had no link to the article

Nobody is saying that Bollywood is dominant or even significantly present in SK not even the article...
i never said that Bollywood is dominating world Movie market rather i was answering to ur ''Soft ****'' n ''sex'' quotes but like i said earlier never mind i its just too hard for u understand the reality...

PS- just for the record i agree that Bollywood won't be as dominant as Hollywood bcoz we don't share the language n culture with other countries(except South Asia) but its definitely much more significant(n gaining more significance day by day) than what u think...

The market will take its course, supply and demand and all.

Not every thread is an invitation to pakistanis to tell us how bad bollywood is and how they never watch it and blah blah blah and other complications related to a large heart, or as some of your understand it - bollywood fobia :)

In that case why not also claim "Bollywood's Future in Antarctica" or "Bollywood's future on mars"
That is just as relevant.

And do you know why Bollywood is considered a joke?
Because there is no art there, it's factory manufactured.
How long has bollywood existed? 50?60?70 years?
IN that time cinema in other countries produces amazing peices, they created new genres, they pushed technology, and they told compelling stories.
what has bollywood done?
Their stories simply moved from the village to the cities, from the town squares to the night clubs.
If bollywood wan'ts to be taken seriously they need to push the envelope. Tell compelling stories, and make horror, scifi, action, comedy, etc.
And for the love of god, stop making every movie a musical.

If bollywood can do that, then maybe it will have a future in other countries.

Show me hard figures: revenue from Indian audience (local + expat) v/s non-Indian culture audience.
Here Indian means South Asian.

More importantly, I hope you realize how dumb you sound dealing in absolutes. Nothing is destined to remain a certain way. Bollywood itself has majorly transformed in the last few decades.

Of course, the discussion is about Bollywood as it is now. If Bollywood changes significantly (e.g. starts making $100 million special effects extravaganzas), then that would be a different discussion.

What is "modified" about saying that Bollywood calibrates its soft **** to keep it just within the limits of social acceptability?
