This is one Helluva ChaalaBaagundi dish! Liked Haleem too....but not as much as a well-made Biriyani. :-)

I used to make a small hole in the Mound of rice and pur sambhar in it.

Payasam was the best part :D

I'd make that hole too, but our Sambars had such low viscosity that they'd dump the vegetables inside that rice crater and continue on their merry way south! :D

Onam sadya is one of the best foods to be eaten and Ada Pradhaman is just so yummy.

Haven't had Ada Pradhaman since I have been to Kerala (nine years ago)

One of the first things I will have when I get there.

Bhai. . . Biryani and Haleem ( during ramadan) are the only two things that kept me alive in hyderabad :D:D
