Source of Income of MQM???

I think parities like PNL N, PPP has very rich industrialists and Landlords. MQM has not any type of that babies. So from where MQM find resources.

They get chanda and bhatta from the big business men of Karachi. These business men must pay the MQM, otherwise they will be killed.

Pakistan cannot afford a war front in Karachi so ZARDARI is doing a good job in wheeling dealing with MQM.

"BHAIYYAS"? Is that not a derogatory term used for Urdu speaking people? I thought you were above such things (as you quote Islam quite often)? Having heard "******", "pind walay" "Akhrot" and what not, is it not time to move beyond the same old provincial BS?

Quaid-I-Azam warmed us this provincialism will destroy Pakistan. It was this very provincialism which split Pakistan in two pieces, hiw many more pieces must be made of what is remaining of Pakistan. It is sad to here such terms. 60 years on we are still where we stood when the British ruled over us.

These business men are part of the MQM, the shipping corporation earn billions and who own it MQM workers.

Muhajirs are very powerfully they are the upper and middle class of Pakistan, they own Jang in fact all news and media power, their source of income comes from very wealthy business men in the initial period of MQM when it was then known as the Mohajir Quami Movement their source of income came from the establishment, as Zia gave his blessings to MQM, to start their party and gave them resources and funding, MQM was created so to counter the PPP majority in Sindh, and create unrest and it has been successful for many years.

Most Mohajirs do not like to associate themselves with the MQM after all it is like saying we are not Pakistani but Mohajir and thus it is like asking for a separate country, Altaf Hussian was charged for burning the flag of Pakistan in Quiads Mausoleum.

Well if we want to see Pakistan progressing and our GDP 7% than we'll have to strike peace with the party ruling in Karachi. A party that has won by over-whelming vote bank. If peace disrupts in karachi, the whole country is bound to suffer.

I must give credit to political maturity of MQM and PPP to strike peace with each others. Also, Zardari knows that Nawaz will back-out any moment, therefore keep MQM's 20 votes in his plate.

Anyway, I appreciate the work that has been done by MQM city nazim in KHI and believe me, we've progressed fasted than developed nations! I really love Karachi now. And, I also appreciate the development work done in Lahore and Islamabad.

Coming back to the question, I think MQM doesn't need too much income....they don't own above 1600 c.c cars not their bunglows are in posh areas. 90 itself is a very small house and all their members live modestly. Even the city nazim till now used to live in a rented house (nowadays in govt housing). MQM do not have feudals not business men in their lines, and they don't spend much on their politicking. Their voters are fixed, including people who hate Nawaz and PPP for their operation clean-up (extra-judical killings)

Yes, till few years back.... bhatta khori was also source of their income..... now I learned from big businessmen, that MQM has stopped taking bhatta forcefully.... maybe earning from some ministeries (shipping etc)

But, the collaboration is ALOT better, The I.I chundigar road, has been made by funds given by businessmen and City Nazim re-build it for them. Similarly, many other small projects have been funded by big conglomerates and the city nazim progressed work on it. The motorbikes of police were given by some businessmen.

The bottom line is: Even if these politicians (MQM, PPP, PML-Q, PML-N, etc) keep 50% of the development funds in their pockets.... just complete that damn project for the public!

MQM wants to be with PPP that is there future, why do u want confrontations when you can sit together and talk it out, Nawaz will not back out, the primary reason for the need of MQM in this coalition is to break all the connection of PML-Q, establishment and Musharraf, so that he cant missuse any party.

^^^^Well honestly I dont know who Jang belongs to, all I know is the name of the owner, Mir Khalil ur Rehman. From what I can tell from his name is he is a Kashmiri. Mir is a name from Kashmir or atleast has Kashmiri origin, but again dont hold this against me I could be wrong.

Dont say that they are our people and well educated they were sexed up to make a party for Zia he is dead now and the MQM remains, they wanted to sit with PPP many times but the establishment and some MQM workers influenced the wrong and made the worse for both.
