1 I just watched some dramas which was aired in 2009 as below, they are about modern life and love. I noticed their clothes, the fashion, the filming technology are rustic, uncool, uncouth compared to today's dramas which are about modern life and love.

2 several years ago, there are very few cars in my countryside hometown. This festival, I went back there and notice: wow, crowds of cars...

You are just catching up to where much of the Western world has been for a long long time.

A small countryside town in the 1920's with plenty of cars. (Edit maybe early '30s)

they are rural areas?

in the pic, cars are not so crowded.

my hometown is in the poor hinterland rural area, so I'm surprised in just a few years, suddenly so many cars appear..

My city is always so good for walking and riding but I like the old style more.

There was only 3000 people in that entire town in the 1930's.

This is what the area looks like even today.

The problem is that many US cities still look exactly what they were 100 years ago. some US cities' infrastructures desperately need vast improvent

We knocked down most of our shantytowns generations ago.

It's far easier to knock down things that are worthless and eyesores for the sake of modernization than to knock down buildings that were built to modern standards.

You really think you are going to clearcut your entire Shanghai skyline in 50 years just to make it "more modern"?
