Always something political there. Somalia was mad at the UAE because of their foreign intrests yet fail to see Turkey acting in their interests. I'm not saying Turkey is inherently bad but I don't support Erdogan whatsoever. With this cooperation Turkey is trying to gain a foothold in the Red Sea, which I think you and I can both agree on.

Current Somali govt decided to remain neutral when the rift between Qatar on one side and UAE and Saudi Arabia on other side erupted. UAE refused to accept the neutrality of Somalia, and has been supporting different groups against the current government in order to unseat it.

The Turkish involvement came during the famine. They've played a huge part in averting the famine and helping kickstart the state institutions. The challenge is outside bigger powers seem to have an issue with the strategic relationship between Somalia and Turkey, and the pressure has been placed on the current Somali govt to scale down its relationship with Turkey.

Meanwhile, the support to the terrorist groups and other subversive elements seems to be growing.

The graduation ceremony of the Somali soldiers which completed the Commando Basic Training Course in Turkey conducted in the Turkish base in Somalia including beautiful recitation of Quran, basic physical training and hand to hand combat demonstration.

Brother is there any other detailed information about these news? There is no any information from Turkish sources about Somali students being trained in ATUNEB Command (sharpshooter school).

With that cooperation rising with Turkey I am sure in near future that some UAV/UCAVs can be gifted to Somalia. Also our base there gains more and more importance so the relationship really starts to look like a strategic one. Maybe some Bayraktar TB2 or Vestel Karayel SU can do a very good job for our Somali brothers or even lease pilots for them.

Somali Air Force (both civilian and military) is currently being formed, with Turkey providing the training. Qatar as it stands now promised to help and provide finances as well. Malaysia and Pakistan also promised to participate in both training and support as well.

So if the current reforms continue in their current trajectory, we should be in a good footing in a few years.

Brother is there any other detailed information about these news? There is no any information from Turkish sources about Somali students being trained in ATUNEB Command (sharpshooter school).

Here is the vice deputy of Somali Police Forces explaining the capture of 12 anti-tank IEDs (improvised explosive devices) and 20 KGs of chemicals used to prepare these deadly munitions against Somali civilians and security forces.

Despite being slow one, the progress of the security forces is good. The terrorist menace is gradually removed from the country.
