SOM Cruise Missile Has Confirmed Its New Added Capabilities

I heard this cruise missile is stealth and has coating on it, is that true??

SOM-B1 has confirmed its new added capabilities with a test fire. The data link feature may have been tested in this firing test, even if not officially specified..

I wonder how countries would counter the SOM, I think radar guided AAA, combined with Tor missiles would be great for protecting assets against most any type of cruise missile.

Also, in the future GPS jamming near strategic targets will severely disable the ability for cruise missiles to accurately strike targets and will have to rely on INS systems.

KARGI anti-radiation Drone

The drone itself is the main munition with high explosive warhead

The KARGI Drone can either operate fully autonomously using its anti radar homing system or it can take a human-in-the-loop mode

Top and direct attack modes are available bro. SOM with penetrator warhead are mostly used on top attack modes so SOM-B2 use this flight path. Kement data-link provides very advanced situation awareness and update oppoetunity so The SOM will be able to loiter over the target while It will be possible to communicate with command/control center from a range over 250km. The missile will share the seeker images from this range.

C1 and C2 variants will be anti-ship cruise missiles which is able to follow and strike moving targets while flying a few meters over the sea surface. C1/2 variants will perform zigzag maneuvring like Atmaca SSM.

That is B2 variant with top attack mode !

good to know but for me first video is more significant as it indirectly shows the 'ground hugging' capability of SOM missile during the cruising stage before to make the dive to hit the target. This capability is more advance as the missile has to fly too low just few meters above the ground and its difficult to achieve ....

You can say that its my assumption/guesstimate/estimate (or whatever other word is used in this sense) that in first video SOM was cruising below 15 meter height [b/w 10-15 meter] at the final stage before to dive to hit the intended target.

The F16 is releasing a SOM but target gets SOM-J in the first video. Turkish type of advertising :).

i figured out there are at least 2 different shots. The first one comes from 90 degree of target building, second one is som-j comes with narrow angle.

nope same test just different angle of video recording which is why it is given the illusion of 90 degree angle .... just check the next frame of the video at the same 0:21 sec as you have captured one of the frame of that particular time stamp

f16 is firing regular SOM, but we see SOM-J on target. but i think you are right above impact, just two different angles of same explosion.

Ther are 2 targets and one is direct hit from above, and the other is hitting from side.
