CPEC is just a bunch of roads, a port, an airport and lots of power plants.

There is nothing for us to really invest in. Even if Indian companies setup power plants, Pak likely won't give them guaranteed profits even if the projects fail, like they are doing with China. So the Chinese won't have any competition. Even Pakistani companies will fail to compete unless Pak govt assures them also of equal guaranteed profits. So more Chinese sponsored plants will come up.

If they want factories, then fat chance of that happening. CPEC is nowhere near being an industrial project. There are no industrial clusters, no freight corridor, no new cities, nothing. 29 SEZs are planned, but there's literally no other information. No information on who is going to invest there, what markets it will service etc. No information on Chinese companies investing either. I bet China itself has 0% ownership in CPEC.

The Chinese rate of interest is too high for soft loans. Otoh, the Japanese have 26% stake in DMIC and their interest rate is 0.1%.

The state you are calling a vassal state is slated to overtake you economically and socially by the end of this decade. That inspite of having a Chipec.
