So is America a liar, or a pussy?

Luckily, and logically, the rules of international geopolitics are the same for every country.

BS. The UAV had quite an advanced system called AN/ALR-89 self-protection suite. Just because Iranian SAMs rendered it ineffective, it does not mean the UAV was "helpless".
More helpless than a fighter jet... Radar warning system only tells them that there is radar lock and had not enough time to get out of the way.

Downplay it all you want this is a big achievement meanwhile Houthi drones are obliterating arms depots. Why aren't those helpless drones shot down?

Hi,

One thing about 'The Donald' is that he is not a war monger---.

And---youngman---I don't know if someone ever told you---never call the President of the US a 'pus-sy'---. See what happened to Iraq---afghanistan---& if in your arrogance you claim that the US is running out of afghanistan---just remember---there are 2 million dead afghans they are leaving behind---.
Innocent non-combatant Afghans! A bully is a pussy! They still lost the war.

Americans are morbid liars for sure
but not cowards for sure. their appetite for war is never over since WW2. they are looking for excuses to start invasion and once they will run out of excuses they will just launch the attacks. they enjoy the technological superiority which is unmatched.
Saudis and their Israeli allies want Iran turn into a bigger version of Iraq and Syria and they will keep pressing America no matter how many American and Iranian lives it takes.

there is no sense of shame for how things turned out after recent invasions so there is no thing stopping Americans unless Putin brings his forces inside Iran and directly threatens any potential attacker but there is no chance of such thing happening. unless if I have completely missed out the news Russians didn't go beyond a handful of comments of warning an request for caution.
They go to war only with weak countries that was divided by the ethnicity and sect

That protection suite offer much more than just radar warning, it was electronic warfare as well, look into it. This UAV also flies very high. Yes it's not as difficult a target as let's say an F-35, but lets not act like it's a propeller UAV or something.

Small targets and Saudi Arabia is very wide. Hard to cover all the territory.

RQ-4A BAMS-D is an ISR platform, with Receivers level EW capabilities (not exactly significant per American standards). Global Hawk class HALE is suited for providing surveillance from significant altitudes, and not try to penetrate defenses of any country.

AN/ALR = Receivers (Warning)
AN/ALQ = Jamming/Spoofing (Penetration); necessary to suppress SAM assets among other stuff
AN/ALT = Transmitters (Communications Suppression)

Penetration aircraft carry extensive EW systems including noise jamming capability against radar systems [ALQ-94 (F-111); ALQ-155/ALT-2B combo (B-52H); ALQ-161 (B-1B)], missile tracking downlinks (B-52H), and false target generating capability [ALQ-122 (B-52)].

Airborne strike platforms such as B-52H, F-15 variants, F-111 variants, and F-35 variants, are very powerful EW platforms, absolutely suitable for "penetration missions." F-111 variants were decommissioned in 1996 (@gambit used to be a pilot of this aircraft).

Now you understand why US have brought B-52H, F-15C and F-35A to the Middle East? Just in case.

AN/ALR-89 suite = AN/ALR-90 (Radar Warning Receiver), AN/APR-49 (Radar Warning Receiver), and AN/AVR-3 (Laser Warning Receiver)

Declassified information:-

RQ-4A BAMS-D = LEFT
MQ-4C Triton Baseline = MIDDLE
MQ-4C Triton Multi-INT = RIGHT

Iran shot down RQ-4A BAMS-D model near the Straight of Hormuz (LEFT).

A 3D phased array radar system can make it possible for a decent MR-SAM with semi-active homing guidance to engage a clearly visible airbreathing target within the 60 - 75 range bracket. Sayyid-2 class interceptor which was used to shoot down an RQ-4A BAMS-D HALE near the Straight of Hormuz, is an American RIM-66 standard SM-1MR derivative. Third of Khordad air defense system is among the high-end of Iranian defenses as per a senior Iranian military official.

A superpower is not judged by the number of dead they leave behind but the tenure of there stay, the Romans didnt leave Gaul for centuries, the Muslims never left the places they conquered, the US stay in Afghanistan was brief, too brief.

Oh please, the only main thing those missile have in common is their white colour.
Iran has a SM-1 missile, it's called Mahrab. Sayyad missiles are vastly different to the SM-1. Iran might have used what it learned during the Mahran project in the development of sayyad-2 missile, but calling it a "derivative" is ridiculous.

So what does that mean? The US is not a superpower? If the answer is that the US is a 'superpower', then the context of 'superpower' is malleable, changing, adaptive to the current era. Today, a 'superpower' is defined less by physical conquests but more by logical conquests, with 'logical' meaning how much non-military influences that power left behind. Further, those influences must be supported by commensurate economic, political, and military resources. Humans are the same in this respect. At the very least, they want to emulate what is seemingly powerful. So just because the Muslims never left the places they conquered, who TODAY want to emulate the many Muslim countries in the world?

Wars are becoming increasingly difficult and expensive to fight now, thanks in part to miniaturization of potent strike platforms which have provided excessive teeth to low-cost guerilla warfare methods. To give you an idea, YOU can knock out a costly armored vehicle with a shoulder-fired weapon or with a remote-controlled IED from a distance. And what to do about suicide attacks? And if you are fighting in a non-cooperative region like Afghanistan then best of luck.

US have certainly put up a better fight than the British and Soviets in Afghanistan, and have lasted twice longer than Soviets in this region while engaged in other fronts*.

*US fought a war of even bigger scale in Iraq, and succeeded in reshaping its political landscape by 2011 - much greater pressure.

Imagine the pressures of fighting a war in two different countries simultaneously in current times. Costs will definitely balloon, and majority of the countries cannot afford expeditions of similar scale and scope at present.

Look at how difficult it was for our own Pakistani armed forces to take over the non-cooperative Waziristan sector of the country (7+ years). This, while under the cover of American drone strikes which eliminated numerous hardened terrorists and created internal fissures in ranks of TTP, and with cooperation of public.

Calm down kid, the Muslims were at the helm for a 1000 yrs, America has only been there for several decades and already China is set to knock them off.

And what if USA's reign is only just beginning? :D

Calm down kid,...
Kid? Am 56 yrs old. USAF veteran, F-111 Cold War, then F-16 Desert Storm. :enjoy:

No one cares. And your continuing romanticism of those bygone days is what keeps you the way you are today.

America has only been there for several decades and already China is set to knock them off.
But not the Muslims?
