What's new

Skier Arif Khan is India’s only athlete representing 1.4 billion people to competing in the Beijing Winter Olympics

Missing what? Kashmir is part of India so obviously he is representing India.
Even the video reported that he is originated from India administrated Kashmir.

You can be 1.4 billions saying it's Indian Territory, but it's not......

You are oppressing enough Muslims inside India, why you want or need more to oppress ?

Is it a joke? A country of 1.4 billion people can not even support one single athlete to go to the Olympic Games?
There is no winter in other part of the country. Only cold otherwise

You mean occupied Kashmiri don't have a problem representing India?

I will be amazed if a Palestinian represent Isarhel.

But nothing is impossible in those crazy times we are living ....

Aren't YOU the one who pointed out that Kashmiri's don't have a problem representing India in the global stage since they consider themselves Indian ?

So now you don't believe your own evidence ?

Has he applied for asylum in china or turkey or pakistan ?

There was one US athlete who took up chinese citizenship, why not this kashmiri man?

Sadly you don't get to make that claim.

Indians will decide what constitutes India, not outsiders.

And Indians will decide HOW we should run our Nation, not outsiders.

Why don't you talk to the chinese about your muslims "brothers" there ? cat got your tounge ?

Probably it's just like French sport players originating from Africa, when they win the media call them French, when they loose they call them, Cameroonian, Algerian or Senegalese .....

Wait and see what this "Kashmiri" will perform ....

How does it matter how this Kashmiri Indian will perform ?

He will still come back to India either way. If he wins he will come back with an INDIAN medal.

My initial post is here, unedited, if you have a problem with English, no problem, misunderstanding any language can happen.

This thread is about Kashmiri representing India, what China has to do in the subject??!

Kashmiri's ARE Indians.

That is simple english and hope you understand this without much confusion.

His Passport declares his citizenship and his participation in Olympics as an Indian declares his love and respect for India.

That is pretty simple and straight forward too.

Since you consider Kashmiri as "tortured" , why not show the same sympathy for the chinese muslims ? Its the same , is it not ?

Most are boycotting winter Olympics..
LOl, like who?

"India competed at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, from 9 to 25 February 2018. The Indian team consisted of two male athletes competing in two sports."

Last time you sent 2 and this time 1, so " most" must be the name of the other guy, right?

New Delhi: Asserting it is “regrettable” that China has chosen to “politicise” the Winter Olympics, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday said the Indian envoy will not attend the opening or closing ceremony of the event.

MEA official spokesperson Arindam Bagchi expressed New Delhi’s displeasure over Beijing’s decision to make an army officer, who was injured during the border skirmish with the Indian troops in the Galwan Valley, the Winter Olympics’ torchbearer.

“Regrettable that China has chosen to politicise the Olympics,” ANI quoted Bagchi as saying on reports of China making the Galwan soldier the torchbearer for the Winter Olympics.

“The Indian envoy will not attend the opening or closing ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics,” he added.

After the MEA’s announcement, Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar Vempati said Doordarshan will not telecast the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

“Consequent to the announcement by @meaindia, @ddsportschannel will not telecast live the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics being held in Beijing,” he tweeted.

China has selected People’s Liberation Army (PLA) regiment commander Qi Fabao to carry the torch at this week’s Winter Olympics relay in Beijing.

Qi Fabao, the regimental commander from the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Xinjiang military command, suffered a serious head injury during the Galwan Valley border skirmish on June 15, 2020.

Qi took the flame from Wang Meng, China's four-time Olympic short track speed skating champion, at Winter Olympic Park on Wednesday, The Global Times reported.

The United States and several other western nations are staging a diplomatic boycott of the Winter Olympics, which opens on Friday, over human rights concerns relating to China’s treatment of Uyghurs in the Xinjiang region.

India just announced Diplomatic BOYCOTT of Winter Olympics

The Game is for athletes, not for politicians and diplomats, it'll be very weird if you send more "diplomats" than athletes to any sports events.

Well this is your one chance to be happy since we are neither sending ANY diplomat NOR are we broadcasting the Olympics in India.

Congratulations.

Arif Khan is a good Indian as long as he does not open his mouth and say anything for what is happening to the Kashmiris or Muslims in India.

The moment he does that, he will have UAPA slapped on him and subjected to the vilest of abuses.
