Because of the cepec now it’s more critical to focus on this area Gilgit is too west and skardu mob and one more fob will perhaps be needed but let’s see

Kamara, Peshawar and risalpure as well as chaklala are all less than 15 minutes apart from each other for fighters and at least and almost in straight line from east to west or vice versa and more than 200 km air distance from skardu or other strategic towns in the north

Mushaf and sargodha, both very close to border. One base should be deep. This is not a good strategy. No base in gilgit baltistan. Skardu is too close and could be destroyed easily. Indian gwaliar and ambala, well placed and Jamnagar base is a strategic location. Please make more air bases deep in Punjab and Atleast two airbases in Gilgit baltistan.

Total air distance for pak fro East to western border , let’s say There is no deep

mushaf is sargodha

the farthest are Peshawar Quetta and Mianwali because they are In the western pak

Valleys in Pakistan are not wide compare to LEH . They are deep huge mountains on both sides. Skardu at 2000 meter deosai on eastern side 4500 plus meters. Chilas to juglot no snowfall. 1000 meter elevation and huge 13 km wide and 7000 meter high nanga parbat wall on eastern side.

the two larger runways seem to be for mil purposes only while the older runway seems to be used by civil as the airport terminal is attached to older runway

There is also a 4th smaller 500m runway at the PAA helibase adjacent to the Airbase

Skardu airport to operate international flights from December 2

December 1, 2021

The wait for upgradation of the Skardu airport is finally over as the airport has been elevated to international status and will begin operations under the new identity from Dec 2 (Thursday), the Civil Aviation Authority announced in a tweet on Wednesday.

The agency said the airport's initial operations will be conducted under the Visual Flight Rules (VFR) only.

Under the VFR, an aircraft is intended to operate in visual meteorological conditions (i.e. nice and clear weather). Clouds, heavy precipitation, low visibility, and other adverse weather conditions should be avoided under the VFR, according to the ATP Flight School.

In January 2020, Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan had announced the decision to upgrade Skardu airport to international standards.

The upgradation of the airport included the construction of a new runway, new terminal building, apron and provision of other facilities to cater to international flight operations.

The minister had also said at the time that the Skardu airport was listed among the world's highest altitude airports, adding that it had become one of the busiest airports in Pakistan.
Sarwar had underlined that a plan was also afoot to expand the Gilgit airport, adding that options were being explored to construct a new airport in Gilgit.
