QUETTA: Six coal miners were shot dead while another was injured in Mach area of Kachi district – about 90 kilometers off Quetta – on Friday.

“The victims are labourers who belonged to the Shia Hazara community. It is clearly a sectarian targeted killing,” DC Kachi Waheed Shah told Express Tribune.

The coal miners were returning from a trip to Mach bazaar, where they often went to shop on Fridays. The crime scene is seven kilometer off the main highway.

“As they crossed a huge drainage off the national highway, a group of armed men opened fire at their vehicle,” added DC Shah.

Levies officials and security forces reached the spot soon after the incident and cordoned off the area. However, the assailants had already escaped by then. The injured is said to be in a critical condition.

A week ago, seven passenger buses of Shia pilgrims were attacked with a car bomb. The blast killed two personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) while Shia pilgrims remained unhurt in the attack.

Upon observing a car suspiciously parked near the highway, FC personnel stopped the buses from proceeding on the National Highway in the Dringar area of Mastung. As they tried to search the vehicle, a explosion took place.

Senseless killings continue. I wonder if the killers ever realize what havoc they cause on the lives of the family members who are left behind. Most times the only bread winner for the entire extended family is killed for no reason but to create dismay. Our prayers and condolences go out to the family of the miners killed by the terrorists. We have to stand united against these atrocities that have hurt the poor people of the region most. Time has come to end these killings and destructions by going after the terrorists and neutralizing them once and for all.

@CENTCOM never miss the chance of giving us sugar coated candies but on other hand his govt. & west supports these Baloch terrorists, leadership of these ba$stards is living & getting support from west and their buddy on our east.

R.I.P.... Hope Baluchistan will return to normal soon.

This sucks... Coal miners are the hardest working and most poorest bunch in any country, why would any one have any beef against them... My sympathies and condolence goes out to all affected, RIP... Hopefully the pakistani military will bring these scumbags to justice....

FC can eradicate all of these moronic B's who are killing migrant workers in the name of 'race'. Pakistan military might not be needed for this task. FC is being trained to raise a specialist counter insurgency unit, coupled with intel craft it will help contain these monsters.

Seems like Pakistan's establishment don't control its much of region , and As longer they use more force they push public towards more rebellious behavior , The center fails to provide equal justice in the rest of the regions of Pakistan , Now they don't hold any authority to control them . You have lost public support in Baloch regions.

How do you know it was done by Baloch Liberation Army and not LeJ scum? Going by the past record this looks like the handiwork of Sunni terrorist group LeJ.

By killing hapless workers like these the terrorists will get alienated for sure but what about Govt there not taking pro active action against them with full preprations

Innalilahey wainna ilheyrajeoon.... may they rest in peace n Allah give patience and strenght to their families.. ameen..

Negotiations with terrorists? yeah right!

They are already outcasts living in moutains or getting shelter in afghanistan... and its not the first time they have killed innocent people... as for the govt.. we have a impotent CM and an arsehole as our PM.

You don't even know what happens in your country? They want freedom from tyrant like Pakistan.

Six hazara coal miners get murdered and somehow this is relevant to Baluch people being oppressed.

Your comment is completely irrelevant, making you sound like a retard.

Now I know why the Chinese laugh at your IQ.
