This is true even for Punjabis especially Sikh soldiers in UK, Canada and USA. When they put on the uniform, then they are the most loyal to their country.

However Indian gov has robbed Punjab blind.
First they chopped off Punjab into Hindu vs. Sikh division. Hindu Punjabis did not protest and Skih Punjabis couldn't much about it.

Then Indian gov robbed Punjab by not even giving a capital (FYI Chandi garh is shared).

Now the largest Punjab city aka Amritsar is at best Class C city if you compare it to West Punjab cities.
East Punjab feeds whole of India and gets next to nothing in return.

East Punjab is being exploited by Indian gov.

chandigarh came in existance in 60s there was no chandigarh and any history to be claimed and there is nothing in punjab that centre can exploit punjab has only got to offer agriculture products whose feasibilty also rests on subsidies and msp provided by centre . and yeah there was always sikhs and hindus in punjab.

I wouldn't say that at all.

I've met a couple of Sikhs here in Canada and anyone here can attest to the fact that when you ask them what they are they'll refer to themselves outright as Punjabi not "Indian".

I've yet to meet a single Sikh that didn't call themselves Punjabi rather than Indian.

And I've met many a Pakistani who says he's a Muslim, not a Pakistani!! And another one said he's a Sindhi, not a Pakistani!! And many on PDF itself never hesitate to unabashedly state that given a choice, they would rather fight for Islam instead of Pakistan!

what a ridiculous load of crap. It was the punjabi Akali Dal that started the Punjabi Suba Movement in the 50s for a Punjabi majority state. Chandigarh is the first planned city in India that came into being only in the 60s also when Punjab and Haryana were created with Chandigarh as its capital. Punjab is happy with sharing the capital, or else they could have easily made Amritsar the biggest city their capital in 1966.

Actually, he is encouraging "righteous" behavior among Punjabis.

Like he says, you don't become "sardar" (leader) just by adding "Singh" to your name.
Equality, and protection of fellow human is something one must do.
