Singapore Navy almost the size of Pakistan Navy

Sir a Navy of a country which is basically a big city is almost the same size if not bigger than of Pakistan and they don't have that much enemies still look at the size of their navy so Pakistan should increase its NAVY with enemy like Indian we certainly need a lot more war ships

True, but they also have one of the the strongest economies in the World, not to mention the quality of life which their citizens enjoy. The USN is almost twice the size of the IN (amount of vessels) with less than half the population of India but does that mean India should have a bigger Navy? No.

For countries like India and Pakistan, development of Cities and quality of life is much more important... as much as we like to fight. Other countries are already developed and hence they can afford more toys. Let's get there first and then we can fight all we want.

Thanks chaps, we're a defensive nation. Ultimately our citizens and army personnel are conscripts and are in means battle hardened warriors so we need all the technological edge we can get.

Luckily we have neighbors in the region who we are working very well with together namely Malaysia and Indonesia. In many cases most Singaporeans consider Malaysia to be a family. Hopefully all these weapons will never be put to use, and even if it is I would wish its only to support our friends in the region.

Singapore has one of the strongest economies in the region.

You should always concentrate on the economy first. Pakistan has a lot of potential in that area, with the world's 6th largest population, and a highly educated middle class.

All you need is a strong leadership, and some economic reforms.

Why you are surprised? Singapore has 25% biger economy, that Pakistan:

GDP, millions of US$:

Pakistan's got the ultimate weapon:atomic weapon. As long as they want to play a defensive role, that's enough.
No need to have more costly arm race.

Singapore thrives on maritime trade, they're rich, they afford to have a strong Navy.
As far as I know Singaporean Navy is mainly used to counter pirates.

Its not only about comparing both the navies on the basis of ships,subs or other equipments but it also depends upon the relative skills, experiences and the ability to effectively deal with a certain situation . On that basis PN has more experience and relative skills.

Not only that i wonder how you found out that both navies are equal in size? Singapore navy has almost half number of frigates compared to PN as well as Singapore navy has no naval fighters and dedicated maritime patrol, anti-submarine and anti-ship aircrafts,

And even that is not a surprise UAE being a smaller country and having quite a low population compared to Pakistan or many other countries in the region still has a very handsome air-force with ever increasing capability and modernization.

More than country size and population such things depend upon your economy and priorities . Israel being just of a size of ping ball on the map still has one of the modern air-forces around because they can afford to do so even then their navy is much more less capable and less equipped may be due to their own priorities

Singapore is surrounded by water from all sides- it naturally needs a bigger navy to maintain its integrity- dont know what the fuss is all about-

not having a border with Afghanistan- its a good thing isn't it?-

hahaha..........btw by applying this rule indian people still don't enjoy the quality of life that can be comparable to their spendings on defence.
