Signs of Resistance to China’s Latest Ideological Crackdown

Freedom of speech and thought is not realistic. Do you allow ISIS ideology to spread in India and in the US? Then why is America blocking ISIS on twitter? By your logic, we shouldn't ban ISIS, cause banning ISIS would reinforce it.

Pro-Western Chinese are traitors. They are not of the People. They are against the People. This is a contradiction between the People and the enemy; not a contradiction between the People. Send them to labor camps so they can contribute involuntarily to China's rise.

I am speechless sometimes....Good news is that Mr. Bakshi is a rare case in India. There are more self-content Indians who have nothing to do for their country but occupy all their time talking about others. For all Chinese members here, @Yizhi @Edison Chen @TaiShang and many more, no need to to be angry since it is a good piece of news of having more and more these sorts of ignorant neighbours, isn't it?:yahoo:

“Top [Western] universities are crowded with high-ranking party leaders’ children. To protect the leaders’ children from Western values,” He wrote, “shouldn’t the Ministry of Education require them to only go to socialist countries, such as North Korea, for study abroad?”

AHAHAHAHAH........LMAO. Couldnt have said it better. :woot: This Chinese professor said it all. What i dont understand is how Chinese officials seem to have such audacity to take their own people as fools.lool They always clamour vil west' to live and study. Even Xi jinpings daughter studies in the evil imperialistic U.S. to study and live,Guess she will be indoctrinated with 'evil western values' pretty soon These officials are always the first to claim they fight against 'western values' meanwhile they are the first to send all their ill gotten wealth and children to the same 'evil west'. What an irony. If i was a chinese i will rightly redicule them all and shame them instead of defending them for 'patriotic reasons. lool
They should keep deceiving their people about how great mother China is, while they send all their kids and money over here. Its a win-win situation for both of us. hihihihihihih. Politicians and their hypocrisy. JEEZ.....

If we follow your logic, then your president will be the first to be sent to a labour camp.:woot:

Xi Jinping's daughter was sent to Harvard by his wife, because most women are not politically sensitive.

When Xi became the President, his daughter was sent back to China.

BTW, Xi's ex-wife wanna immigrate to the US, while Xi didn't agree, since he wanna stay in China. That's why they got divorced. And Imagine China that back in the 1970s was poor as hell, yet Xi didn't want to immigrate, so it is out of question by now.

BTW, Peng Liyuan is a good wife and a good mother, but she isn't always politically sensitive and made a mistake by sent her daughter to Harvard. If I am the President of China like Xi, heck I also won't send my children to the US, because I am politically much more sensitive than her.

People go there for less-pressure life or transfer illegal money. It simply has nothing to do with values and ideologies. It is the values of Chinese culture that matters, no matter how much I know about western values. As for me, I don't like their communist ideology either. You just simply mix these two aspects together, just like should I ask, so many Indians go to the west and never come back(a lot of Chinese studying abroad will come back), what can you learn from that? It is western technology that matters. And next time pls try some comprehensive thinking than merely taking it too simple. And don't you perceive a sinking UK replaced by outsiders who don't embrace British values? It is a war of people and religions. And westerners are brainwashed by some so-called political correctness, preaching the world and in the meantime ignore their real enemies are not from abroad.

i don't see any mistakes of sending their daughter to Harvard. But all students if they have a chance should go abroad and learn.

Sure, just like me.

I am becoming more patriotic than ever.
Me the same. Several months of exchange program gives me nothing but some new scientific and technological ideas. I'll never support real communism but will defend those who wear a hat called CCP but embrace the core values of Chinese culture, which, unlike all other ancient civilizations, keeps China a unique country from outside intruders. When India is not that ancient India, Egypt is not that ancient Egypt, but China, in this country we still keep those values 2000 years ago. Those who once dominated China inevitably become part of China. This is unique, not communism, not socialism, not democracy, not capitalism, just our own culture no matter what sort of clothes it wears.

The communism has been integrated into our civilization, you have to take that in mind.

We are an open minded civilization, and we can absorb other foreign elements just to keep improving ourselves.

We had also tried to integrated the western capitalism into our culture during the era of the ROC, but it failed badly in result.

pls come to our QQ group 317761915, although founded by Mr. Bakshi from India who is now working in China, we have some of the most talented religionists ( folk, but dare to say real stuff. Not that sort of official one who can say nothing but common sense) on religious conflicts of history and future). We have just ended a fascinating discussion on 21st century's religious war( I have documented every members' words), I dare to say a top level brainstorm.

That's why i call it chinese values. though I cannot really agree with your first sentence, it's true that chinese values are in fact a mixture based on some original ideas. I am total for Taoist ideas, a sense of moderation in the middle, don't get extreme in any way. And I don't see too much real communist values now, it's pragmatism, any -ism is just a matter of terminology. I mean, it's a coat, but the essence is our own ones.

it is defined as all that are against China's national interests.
How do you define western ideology?

Isn't the whole CCP completely based on western ideology and system of Communism, where the whole system was in fact copied from the Soviet Union. The whole system of Politburo, Central Military Commission etc.

Exactly. Today we live in a globalised world. So saying they want to purge China of any 'western values'(i dont even understand what they mean by this, since Communism itself isnt Chinese to be honest.lol) is just propaganda talk. If China wants to insulate itself from the west/world then it will have to go back to its Maoist days. The world is already globalised only few countries like North Korea can still be said to be insulated from this phenomenon. So these officilas should just get it over with. There is no way China is turning back, things will only get more 'western'/globalised. That's the real truth(well except the CCP closes itself from outside world again to preserve 'Chinese culture' and maintain loyalty to the party first and country second.lol).

AGREE.

You are too simple.

When China talks about getting rid of the Western values, it does not mean closing off economic, political or social relations. It means replacing them with genuine historical values of China while eclectically benefiting from whatever might work for China -- be it foreigner or domestic.

You are a moron if you believe that China became world's largest trading nation by closing itself off. But interaction does not mean submission. We have a deeper and richer history than many others and we are proud of it.

Like many Chinese members, I received part of my education in the West. That did not make me less of a patriot and I returned home. So, before jumping like an ignorant chimp, take a look at the increasing number of students and experts that come back home each year.

Many of Taiwan's successful tech start-ups used to work in Silicon Valley.

Hence, purging Western values, basically, means achieving self-sustained economic, political and cultural development.

And, no matter how high you jump in your little island, China has been doing just that.

We are putting down our own rules and not to be dictated by others. The counter-terrorism law that orders foreign companies to store information inside China and provide backdoor access to Chinese officials, or replacing foreign communication tech with domestic ones are recent examples.

On equal basis, we can deal with you. If you demand submission, we will bi***-slap you.

CCP from my perspective is not CCP. If westerners just simply get cheated from this coat, they will never understand China. Once you talked about Maoist, honestly, that's the most communist era in all time I think. The current government is a mere replica of its ancient Chinese counterpart I think. Chinese values are a symphony of different ideas, CCP members don't want to say it, but it doesn't mean they are blind to it. They got to wear a coat. For most western countries, since their moral burden and religious correctness, their politicians will never admit they are actually harming their own interests. I hope you understand what I mean cause I cannot say it too directly. Globalized? yes, westernized? From a perspective of dynamic history, I am deeply doubted.
