The Russian Oligarchs were dealt with when the system they propped up in Russia invaded Ukraine. For a British electorate that doesn’t want to see millions of migrants coming to their shores in an unchecked manner, keeping the Pakistani oligarchs that reside there in check and not destabilizing Pakistan is in Britain’s own interests, one would assume.
But the way the Brits think is like the Swiss . If they return one crook other crooks will think twice about moving their money to London. It is bad for the Brit business

Sure that’s what the business class thinks, but not the average person. Britain would be the last stop, migration travels all the way through Europe to get to Britain, and will only increase if things get worse. Despite the hardships more will keep trying to get through as was the case in the mid 2010s, after Syria and Libya had become destabilized.

If British voters can tell their representatives, especially Tories, that the marginal benefit of allowing Pakistani oligarchs to reside in Britain is not worth the uptick in migration, then it will have an impact. Especially if it risks toppling Sunak’s government. This is not to mention all the other European electorates and governments which would be effected by an increase in migration.

Migration of Pakistanis are probably already increasing, despite the risks.

Everything you say is true but you’re assuming sufficient number of British people can act to get their reps do something. Even if they do, the British leadership will NOT ever deport dictators oligarchs mafiosi and similar criminals. That nation runs on crime

Isn’t there an election coming up? Are the Sharifs worth the electoral cost to the Tories? The sharifs are no Oil oligarchs like the Russians, the amount of money is relatively low for the hassle.

There is also the fear that without the ability to dial down the pressure/the ability to vent which democracy allows, there will be an uptick in Anti-Western sentiment, which will be counter-productive if Pakistan and countries like it are not to be left without options other then China. In India, while this may look good to some, it should be seen as a potentially to negatively restrict India’s prospects of growth. This is especially important at this junction because India has a 20 year demographic dividend window it needs to grow within before its labor costs make it less competitive, similar to what is happening to labor costs nowadays in China. Driving the smaller countries more firmly into the embrace of China will make them more desperate, forcing them to potentially trade access for economic relief, and turn down potential projects with India.

For the British, post Brexit, hoping to do more independently, possibly via the Commonwealth, China (which has a desire to pay the British back for supporting the Hong Kong Movement) could use proxies to call out British hypocrisy in the commonwealth in a way that limits British business prospects. This is recently on the heels of the Chinese-Russia meet up where they are looking to increase the use of the Chinese Yuan in business dealings in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The British economy’s largest sector is insurance: Lloyds of London being one major firm. If British actions or lack there of are perceived as hypocrisy, they may sees an increase in countries turning to Chinese insurers. It may seem laughable now, but it will become a necessary part of Chinese economic evolution as their business ventures increase in these countries.

Btw, to make all these points the British-Pakistani community will probably need to hire full time lobbyists and lawyers.

I am not sure how effective these petitions are gonna be against the Nawaz and co.

UK already knows the corruption of the sharif's via panama papers, books, and tons of articles written on his criminal activities, yet he still roams freely.

If anything, they should pursue petitions against Bajwa and co in the international criminal courts and forums. That will build some pressure on the handlers to stop supporting these petty criminals like sharif's and zardari.

It isn't about the money, but having puppets.
USA probably knew there was no way the Shah would ever be back in power, but they didn't hand him over because it would send the wrong message to the other puppets, that they too were disposable.

I hope so, but unlikely.
The amount of signatures normally slows down at 18k due to lack of reach. In two weeks it could be 40k max
How many expats in UK? I don't think this is going to reach 100k.

The govt already knows but they have no incentive to act. It's about bringing the issues to the knowledge of voters. There's your incentive.

Let him live in UK. I don't want this mofo back in Pak.
Now, we are missing his fat a*s. Let him come back and then we'll see him run from elections.

The British-Pakistani community will need to reach out to allies in the larger British population. Also, supporting the Shah backfired. The west doesn’t need another Iran in the region.
