dhaka has nothing to do for the common people, these events are what people look forward to. When i was little there were big fields for kids to play in, now they are getting acquired and buildings are being built over them. Kids in dhaka have no source of entertainment, other than smoking cigarettes. We need more events like such, these events lead to stronger Bangladeshi nationalism. So, its a win win situation here.

We shouldn't mix up Religion with culture,people(Muslims) enjoy these kinds of cultural programs once or twice a year but devote themselves for Islam for the whole year.I don't see anything wrong in that as long as they are not directly harming Islam in Bangladesh.We are Bangladeshi Muslims,we have our own culture apart from being Muslim and thats how it rolls.

Either you are very naive or have no clue about retaining faith in Islam. Islam stands on Emaan. Without Emaan there is no Islam. Praying five time a day all year long won't preserve your Emaan if you even believe the existence of another
God beside Allah even for a split second. Just remember, it takes few minute for a non-Muslim to become Muslim, similarly it takes a second for Mumin to become kafir.

This whole rally based on pure shirk. Allah may forgive many sins but Allah will never forgive Shirk. Now you decide your fate.

I second you on it as Mangal Jatra/Yatra, Mangal Sutra bear the tag of 'Hinduani rituals'. Apart from it, there is nothing Bangladeshi in eating Panta-Elish and going 'Shaheed Minar' by wearing 'Halud Sari'. Infect, the concept cherishing 'Shaheed Minar' is synonymous to committing 'Shirk'.

Finally, Hinduani and Muslimiat are completely different and some cases are opposite ideologies. And on religious spectrums, we'd be better off by not trying to unify it, thanks.

going to shohid minar is remembering the dead who sacrificed themselves for the bangla language, no one is worshiping the fallen. Same way people go to the mausoleum of saladin in damascus to remember such a great general and recognizing the great deed he has done.
