It's not that expensive my friend we just acquired 50,000 BPJ for just 150 CR

And over 1lakh Kevlar helmets of 170 CR

If you see it's just peanuts for our mighty

51 billion $ budget

We can by BPJ and Kevlar helmets and gears for whole army for just 2-3 billions $

Irony is Indian Army unspend budget is 3 times larger than figure I mentioned above

Well Army is crying for it since decade there prayers just heard

We don't know the quality of the helmets and jackets. They could be like this

or like this

. . .
pakistan needs to cut no. of generals and troops to 500,000 from 6,70,000. lean and lethal

.
Have a look at the map. Pakistan and India would go bankrupt just in transporting, supplying their armies across 4,000 miles. That is if they could move 1.5 million men across that distance. Which they would not be able to. What they propose to do? Move by mule train? The idiocy of some posters on PDF is beyond belief.
I think his stupidity deserves punishment..

He suffers from some condition (just read his other posts).

That's still quite poorly equipped.

Americans are very well equipped too but they are an outlier- large army and well-equipped

Actually, we've and many other countries have learnt from their experiences - heavy weight (from equipment) is a huge liability to soldiers. All you need is the basics, a good standard vest; helmet and ect... - light is the way to go.

The Indian army is large but ill-equipped. Should we shrink our army down (perhaps 1/2 it's size?) so we can have more resources per unit? Our army would be more versatile and stronger with smaller but more well equipped solders.

China is doing the same; maybe India should follow.

I'll pass that on to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. I'm sure they'll give a flying f*ck.
Okay, I owe a apology to all the men/women serving in the Norweigian Force including in Iraq and Afghanistan. Indeed they have taken causalties. However what I was really meaning to say is that USA is the shield against the only threat against Norway - Russia. In trying to say that I ended up rubbing off the Norweigian service members wrongly.

Take it easy on that guy.
Agreed.

his stupidity deserves punishment..
Yes. He has to live with his stupidity every day. That is enough punishment.

Don't worry in decade or so when budget reaches close 100 billion we will have get that

Though India started to change it

We just ordered BPJ and helmets

Though many people thought that fund the main problem but actually it mismanagement by Mod

India in house make one of the best BPJ's in the world but it's irony we not procure it due to inability of beaurucrats
By the time your defense budget reaches 100 billion; your "newly procured" equipment would've already become outdated compared to European, American or (by then) Chinese equipment.

It's a never-ending cycle for many countries.

Well, in land of assumptions I am Atilla the Hun. In real life logistics make and break armies. US Army had edge over others precisely because of the logistics capabilities.

It all depends on what "should we shrink out army" means.

The Chinese will decommission about 300,000 soldiers, most, the vast majority of them are non-combat related roles. Cooks, Janitors, butlers, and the like..

Even when Pakistan "shrunk" their army back under ex-COAS Kahani who removed of drivers, cooks, "batsmen", servants for the families of officers.

Get rid of the non-essential personal who's only job is to pamper the Officers and their families, and the size will dissipate by a couple hundred thousand.
