Even tho Bengalis were undoubtedly marginalised by west Pakistan which is true and yahya was a terrible ruler, it would be incorrect to say that the events unfolded only in the last year during yahyas tenure. Mujeeb has decided on separating long before.

No. You're mistaken. We all know about the lies that Mujib sent a message to the EPR HQ to declare independence. It is entirely false. No declaration was heard by the people in the East before Zia declared independence.

There are similar stories through which BAL and Hasina want to make us believe Mujib favored independence. He was not, but after 1971, the BAL party started propaganda to prove that from the very beginning, he wanted a separate Bangladesh.
