The fact that the US has trillions of dollars to repay as debt, and still it is giving aid to other countries really beats me! How can one be under debt and give loans to other countries at the same time?!?. There ought to be a rule against this farce put forward and implemented by UN and other world bodies.

Similarly you can either be a recipient of aid or a donor of aid, being both at the same time is not only illogical but also hypocritical. No wonder their are perpetual small riots in the US from its under privilaged class on the same lines. Your own people are jobless and homeless and your dishing out cash to some other country... How cool is that?

The aid programs disbursed in countries like India and China that do nothing in return for the United States are primarily done to gain a foothold in their domestic markets and political systems.It's in the interest of the United States and the west in general to keep such programs alive for maintaining some sort of minimal presence in the region.In turn,they seek profitable shares in our economic zones.

That being said,the programs aren't enforced and can be rolled back at anytime the Americans or Britons deem fit.

I had no intention to thank your post. In any case, if you think we beg from World Bank, IMF and ADB can you show me it is aid or loan and can you show me a single instance where India has got aid from the above or a loan is waved off.

Doesn't matter how much money average indian has. what matters is that our govt doesn't need to beg anyone to keep us floating. and Pakistan govt has to. and yes, we are proud our country doesn't have to ask for any aid, what they give is up to them, and that too to the NGO's, not to govt.
