I don't have 'secular ideas', I have 'Islamic ideas'. The Quran very specifically states 'no compulsion in religion' and 'respect and tolerance for everyone', and our Blasphemy laws, laws against Ahmadis and other minorities openly flout those commandments of the Quran.

If anyone is responsible for rejecting the message of Islam, it is those who defend those hateful, intolerant and discriminatory laws mentioned above.

And I don't believe in the hadith any more - they contradict the Quran in too many places, and are then used to offer convoluted and absurd explanations to explain the contradictions. While some of them may indeed be accurate, too many distortions and lies have been introduced into them to propagate intolerance and hatred by the Mullahs and Islamic scholars to perpetuate their control over society, and it is impossible to pick out truth from lies, so reject them all and simply adhere to the Word of Allah, the Quran.

The Quran alone is Allah's word, and if there is anything worth following it should be in the Quran - so either provide some verse from the Quran outlining 'flag regulations', or this is yet another attempt to focus on frivolous and useless symbolism.

Sir g spot on , i think Pakistanis should stop referring to Ahadith when debating Islamic laws , unfortunately the Ahadith are amended and twisted by past rulers just for personal benefits

Shuntmaster:

Duh - no kidding.

The symbols are based on heavenly bodies visible to the earth for millions of years. I would think that at some point in human history someone would have gazed into the sky and sketched out what they saw on stone, wood, paper ....

Absurd logic.

The earth pre-dated Islam by millions of years as well - perhaps Muslims should stop living on it.

Archaeologists have uncovered temples to the Moon-god throughout the Middle East. From the mountains of Turkey to the banks of the Nile, the most wide-spread religion of the ancient world was the worship of the Moon-god. In the first literate civilization, the Sumerians have left us thousands of clay tablets in which they described their religious beliefs. As demonstrated by Sjoberg and Hall, the ancient Sumerians worshipped a Moon-god who was called many different names. The most popular names were Nanna, Suen and Asimbabbar. His symbol was the crescent moon. Given the amount of artifacts concerning the worship of this Moon-god, it is clear that this was the dominant religion in Sumeria. The cult of the Moon-god was the most popular religion throughout ancient Mesopotamia. The Assyrians, Babylonians, and the Akkadians took the word Suen and transformed it into the word Sin as their favorite name for the Moon-God.

We have to use our abilities in positive & constructive directions. Even in discussion on PDF. (In my point of view)

And right there you have answered the question to why the Muslim world has regressed so much.

Our Mullahs and Islamic Scholars have chosen to focus on the inane, absurd and frivolous - should men work with women, study with women, burqa, is Music haram, is smoking haram, is driving haram, is the star and crescent haram, is having anal sex haram, is having long toenails haram, is not having a beard haram, is not praying five times a day haram, are pictures, photographs and statues haram .....

Is coca cola haram? :O

I mean really, instead of all this nonsense, how about we focus on treating our fellow human beings (all of them regardless of race or religion) with respect and equality, and focus on exploring the arts, music and science and enhance our creativity by discussing everything that can be discussed, without threat of being thrown in jail and being killed for 'blasphemy'.

the most wide-spread religion of the ancient world was the worship of the Moon-god. on what basis are you making such a claim?

There were people also worshipping the Sun and African tribal religions to the Mayans how can you just claim the most wide spread worship was of the moon god?

The Quran is also written in ancient Arabic, a language that was used by the 'pagans' to worship and communicate in before Islam was brought about - should we change the language of the Quran as well?

Have you divorced from Islam or something? Now You are calling Hadis unauthentic to suite your secular agenda? Do you even know Allah has commanded Muslims to fallow Prophet Mohammed PBUH? How can Muslims fallow their beloved prophet Mohammed PBUH if according to your logics Hadis has been corrupted.
Quran and Hadis dont contradict each other because their is interpretation behind it.

Think about it this way, our flag has a little for everone.

Green for Muslims, white For non-Muslims, symbols for satan worshippers :D

The flag should remain as is. Its beautiful.

Off topic but the "Satan worshippers" don't actually worship satan. Most of them are just atheists that believe in a philosophy of indulgence over abstinence. They just do weird rituals for a sense of unity and to offend religious people.

Please dont make a fool out of yourself by giving illogical statements. ARABIC language was chosen by Allah SWT where as these symbols were not chosen by Allah nor Prophet Mohammed PBUH to represent Islam.

I am not discussing Ahmadis - merely pointing out how the laws against them violate the commands of the Quran, and the fact that such violations of the Quran are ignored by people like you in favor of arguing over 'symbols'.

Have you and your kind divorced from Islam or something? You are calling Hadith 'authentic to suite your hate-mongering and prejudiced agenda of victimizing non-Muslims? Do you even know that Allah has not commanded Muslims to contradict the Quran on the pretext of 'following Muhammad (PBUH)?

How can Muslims follow Allah and the word of Allah (Quran) when they choose to follow hadith that contradict the Quran?

Not in mood to start new thread for my query, please someone answer here.

It always fascinate me that Muslims are advised to spread teachings of Islam to non-Muslims but no one cared to spread it in 20th century India instead they chose seperate country based on religion. Whereas earlier Muslim empire's sacrificed men, and other precious resources for this purpose. Mughals mingled with Indians regardless of religion, this was reason for their success and prosperity. They didnt felt insecure about their faith, instead it actually benifitted Islam. For Muslims Religion should come 1st, but what led to this idea of seperate Islamic nation instead of spreading teachings of Prophet Muhammed.

How about we all divorce from the religion called Islam and become atheist and focus of worldly life? Wouldn't that be better for Pakistan, that way the BIGGEST hurdle in progress of Pakistan will disappear right?

So please tell me where in the Quran 'flag regulations' are mentioned? What 'flag' did Allah chose?
