U guys haven't even designed a turbofan forget about making even a prototype.

Even with less thrust kaveri works,though not good enough to be on tejas.

So please refrain from making sweeping statements based on emotions

If China offers Pakistan a Joint Venture Possibility, I can guarantee you we will find the money to invest in the project.

Pakistan has a lot of " Banker " Friends who are always ready to lend money to us on such Projects.

The key question is are the Chinese willing to offer Joint Venture deal similar to JF-17 deal here.:D
We can also join the TFX project. :D

Other than that, S.Koreans are already working on one, and their PM is here on a 5-day visit. ;)

I'm sure China would love to have Pakistan as a partner, a paying partner. This is key. Pakistan lacks the money and vision to take on this project. Yes, the PAF has the vision, but Pakistan's executive leadership is composed of a bunch of dullards. We have the means to turn every department of ours into a winner, from PAF to PCB, yet the men and women on top sell us short. They sell policy to the highest immediate bidder, not to the interests of the land and its people. Their futures are in UK, US and UAE or KSA, not in Gulshan-e-Iqbal in Karachi, Peshawar, some new but risky settlement outside of Lahore, etc.

The JF-17 is the result of PAF and the power of its own initiative. As you can see, the PAF on its own can only go so far, it needs to unyielding support of the executive leadership, i.e. the Raheel-Nawaz duo, among others. If our leadership were legit, the PAF would have put in $1bn US in JF-17 and it would've been like Gripen NG.

The F-22P is the result of PN on its own initiative, if executive leadership were there, the F-22P would've been something like Singapore's Formidable Class FFG.

The Al Khalid is the result of PA on its own initiative, and if executive leadership were on board, it'd be a cross between ZTZ-99 and Altay.

The nuclear program is the initiative of sincere leaders from across the services and bureaucracy, and it took decades for it to come to fruition in the manner that it has. Had executive leadership been on board 100%, we would not only have weapons, but our own nuclear reactors powering our cities by now.

Our contributory participation in this project depends upon whether or not we can achieve 7% economic growth on a consistent and long-term basis.

If PPP gains breathing space and makes a come-back, then forget about everything.

Our country is like table tennis for our rulers, back and forth, back and forth. The fact that these guys can come in and out with no impunity and care is ridiculous. If anyone still hasn't realized that we have a screwed up system in Pakistan, then God save them, because the sooner God saves them, the sooner we save Pakistan.

Invested Billions of rupees on a less power engine
if you believe or not
The Failure is the your Biggest Failure

There is a reason for that----the JF17 would never be closer to the latest F16 that pakistan could get. JF 17 is just a compromise in case there are sanctions.

In Pakistan case no economic language works just don't give importance to 7% or 5%....your governments just prints out money like crazy for themselves only on daily basis don't even think for a bit that money circulates for the betterment of economy. It sort of that cartels business and crates of money going out. What would be so hard upon and dying economy and nation if they print money for relevant importance security reasons.

India know much more than you.We already have a very successful Aerospace Industry and a fourth generation jet fighter developed indigenously.

And for your delusions,First example of our work HF 24 Marut Joined our Airforce in the 1960s.It wasn't a JV like JF 17,a JV in which Pakistan couldn't even develop a RWR..

And we have far more experience in design,avionics,EW,engine,radars and in many other fields wrt to Aerospace

Please check the indigenousness of your said aircraft.

Last I heard you were employing help from all over the world because you couldn't make your Tejas tick, even after decades of "indigenous" efforts.

Marut on the other hand was designed by Kurt Tank which was a German company. It was supposed to be designated 43 Pulqui III, as a successor to their previous aircraft the 33 pulqui II.


But we have experience of building 4th generation fighter from scratch on our own.

No offence to Pakistanis, but India has much more experience in Aerospace Industry than Parisian.

Unlike JF-17, Tejas is not JV; Plus several avionics in Tejas are developed by India, including its Fly By Wire system.



JF 17 is powered by RD-93, according to official sources.

India is ahead of Pakistan when it comes to the aerospace industry. However the point was not to compare Pakistan's industry with India's but give a simple answer to a simple question through an example. Q) How can Pakistan go in a JV for a 5th gen bird when it has no experience in the said technologies. Ans) Exactly the same way India went into a JV for a 5th gen when it had no experience in the said technologies, even more so when you realize that they are having trouble putting their 4th gen bird in the sky.

Even technological advantage is out of grasp when you compare a budget of mere $ 6b with a massive $ 42b. At this price range people run around you giving discounts that we would never get with our constant begging of cheap prices. India is in the position of acquiring stealth, MRCA, Tejas, MKIs while we can only look upto JF-17. It's time we think about economy, which frankly the ship has sailed, and we can just wish a better economic outlook.

Optimism is accepted when there is bleak prospects of hope. We have none when we court terrorists to listen to us instead of the other way around.



Radar absorbant paint and materials are a fortune. China cant help us everywhere, its understandable. New platform brings in a lot of costs.
Looking at India`s contribution of 350 million $ into PAK-FA, I think that Pakistan can and should put some contribution to project J-31, since it is certainly a plane that will interest Pakistan in the future, it might as well be important to get familiar with it and its technologies right now, and start implementing (at least) plans for its induction into PAF.
