NEW DELHI: One terrorist was killed and another surrendered after an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopiandistrict on Sunday.

Jammu and Kashmir Police said a terrorist, identified as Adil, lay down his arms after they assured him that he would not be killed. This is the first time in recent months that a terrorist has surrendered before security personnel during an encounter.

The two terrorists had holed up inside a house in Shopian's Barbughyesterday after security forces launched a cordon and search operation following specific intelligence regarding the presence of ultras in the area.

The terrorists had opened fire on the search party, leading to a prolonged gunbattle which ended with one terrorist shot down and the other raising the white flag after being surrounded from all sides.

Adil, a resident of Chitipora in Shopian, was immediately whisked away for questioning after his surrender.

Security forces identified the slain terrorist as Tariq Ahmed Dar and said he was wanted for involvement in many terror related incidents.

Meanwhile in Anantnag, police constable Imtiyaz Ahmad was martyred after terrorists attacked a police party on Saturday evening.

Shows the level to which these guys are brainwashed!

.

Indoctrination among them starts early. What preachers and clerics teach them in their religious schools makes a fine bedrock of fear, suspicion and insecurity in the minds of these folks. By the time young innocent kids are filled with enough insecurity and estrangement from their own country, their thought devolves to the level of a powder keg; all it needs is a tiny spark to take them on the wrong path.

There is a solution that is well implemented by China in addressing this problem. China has developed a set of regulations which also involve in governance of religion/faiths, particularly, organised religions which are as much an import to China as they are to us.

Here, their government authorities ensure that the religious texts are printed only in specially developed government print houses and not imported. Almost all of these books come with their "edits based on approval from the guidelines set by the government". It is a nice way of saying "your holy book has to comply with what the ruling government says or you'll be dead".

To the outside world it might seem excessive but these guys have taken the practical part in controlling the high susceptibility to militancy of certain communities through eliminating texts and verses which can radicalize their youth.

In this area, we have much to learn from our Chinese friends. Despite what people may call an "infringement of democracy", every governance model must evolve with time, to incorporate the dynamic nature of vulnerabilities and threats in a changing world.

Democracy itself was an evolution of political systems regressed with too much tyranny and authoritarianism. Today, it is time for certain elements of democracy to be modified to suit the changing requirements.

So a total of 4 killed yesterday at 3 different locations and 1 surrendered ?
I know of 3.
2 were killed in Imam sahib yesterday.
One was killed today morning.
Who is the fourth one?

Massive CASO was carried out at 20 villages in and around shopian. Are they expecting a big catch soon?

Hats off to Chinese for coming up with this brilliant idea, and to also be able to execute it successfully.

What worries me most is the use of mosques for radicalisation in the valley. Some how govt has been sitting with its hands tied since the trend began in late 80's.Wonder why?
2 decades of brainwashing has definitely changed the demography and attitude of KMs in the valley.

Ya Allah protect my brothers fighting against Brahmin Samraaj. Ameen.

View attachment 424330 Is this real , @Levina ?? Or just being sarcastic?? Lolzzz
But we knows in real this is the reality of brainwashed minds.

And this is the pure evidence that terrorism has religion. @Levina
Yes those who killed this young man too have religion and those who are doing genocide of Rohingya Muslims have religion too.
The difference is you kill innocent un armed civilians while we are the protectors of innocent lives. Kashmiri Muslims are not like Rohingyas we will fight back by the help of Allah.

This guy is a well known terrorist sympathiser.
His previous account was suspended i guess.

Beyond KMs and Rohingyas, there are people being killed in Africa, Syria, Iraq, but no one talks of them. Is it because they have a different religion and sect?
Should not being human be the only consideration to save people?

We helped Syrians and all other people who are facing violence. From Kashmir to Chechnya and Palestine we are one. It is a responsibility of a Muslim to aid helpless people regardless nationality and religion.
My ancestors helped many Kashmiri Pandits and given them safe passage during 1947 war of Independence which is clear example of our love for Humanity.

We as in?
Syrians had to run to a Christian majority Europe to save themselves. Why should have that happened when other brotherly countries were close by?

Very good post.

The dislike for MUSLIMS should slowly cease. People need to understand that the problem lies somewhere else and then take steps to address them. Human lives are unnecessarily being lost for such (what should be) trivial issues.
