This could also be ISIS-K behind this attack, ISIS-K has 11,000 fighters in Afghanistan. Russia, Iran, China and Pakistan were on the same page with regards to emerging threat from ISIS-K. There were reports of regional countries increasing support for Afghan Taliban as an effective bulwark against ISIS-K. As situation evolves, time will tell whether this was ISIS ( Iraq/Syria) or their Afghan branch (ISIS-Khorasan). I suspect it to be the latter as they have been emboldened since last year. They are taking on Afghan Taliban, Afghan government, did 2 blasts in Pakistan in 2016, one on lawyers and one on a sufi shrine + numerous attacks including recent ones in Afghanistan.
This emerging threat needs to be stopped.
Russian Foreign Ministry statement about unidentified (US) aircraft dropping weapons/supplies to ISIS-K in Northern Afghanistan points to the fact, that US will try to use this as a tool to destabilize Iran, Central Asia, Russia, China's Xinjiang and CPEC in Pakistan.

Iranian parliament terrorist attack ends with 4 gunmen killed

Tehran (ISNA) – Gunmen and suicide bombers have carried out terrorist attacks on Iran’s parliament and the mausoleum of revolutionary founder Ruhollah Khomeini on Wednesday.



Apparently, the aim of the attacks is creating advertising space in order to show the country is unsafe.

Four gunmen burst into Tehran’s parliament complex with rifles and a pistol, and one of the attackers blew himself up on the fourth floor.

Several police snipers on the rooftops of buildings around the parliament. Shops in the area were shuttered, and gunfire could be heard. Witnesses said the attackers were shooting from the fourth floor of the parliament building down at people in the streets below.

At least 12 people were killed and 42 people wounded during the attacks.

About half an hour after the initial attack at Parliament, three to four people reportedly entered the western entrance of Ayatollah Khomeini’s tomb complex and opened fire, before one of the attackers detonated a suicide belt.

But currently the situation in Ayatollah Khomeini's tomb complex in under control.

State news agencies said a number of people had been injured and that security forces were dismantling a bomb at the mausoleum, which is in southern Tehran, about 12 miles from the parliament building.

The Islamic State group has claimed attacks on Iran's parliament and the shrine of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

"Fighters from Islamic state attacked Khomeini's shrine and the Iranian parliament in Tehran," the Amaq news agency said.

In another statement, the news agency said Wednesday's attacks on Khomeini's shrine were carried out by two suicide bombers.

The terrorists entered the parliament in women dress.

Iranian security guards killed the four gunmen, ending the terrorist attack on Parliament.

Currently, the security guards are engaging in clearance the parliament building.
