He is a politician and politicians thrive on rhetoric.

ATleast 15 to 20 years ago, Shiv Sena had tremendous local support in the state of Maharashtra, there were many movement/protests by them in support of the common man but over a period of time and due to differences between Raj and Uddhav Thakeray and due to Raj forming MNS party, the Shiv Sena's influence has dwindled ALso, Uddhav Thakeray is not as influential as his father Bal Thakereay.

If Shiv Sena is still functional today then it is only due to Bal Thakeray alone even though he has grown quite old now.

BJP alone has never been at power in the central government. It was NDA that is BJP + many other parties.

I am an Indian living in India and I can say this with conviction that Shiv Sena is as bad or as good an any other party.

One MP of Samajwadi party in Maharashtra and many MP's of diff. parties in Northern India have criminal cases against them.

SO Bal Thakeray is really no exception.

To be very honest, ever since US got involved in the region (after 9/11 and with the advent of drone attacks), threat of Pakistan is really no longer an issue. The only issue concerning India is terrorists present in Pakistan.

In recent times, I dont remember BJP making any provocative statements against Pakistan (except some of them after 26/11).

BJP has never said anything abt wiping out Pakistan from world map.
May be BJP supporters made that statement.

^^ Don't know how much of this is true but it's also an anecdote that Bal Thackerey was so inspired of Hitler's ideology that he decided to keep the name of his new party on the name of Hitler's SS. That's why Shiv Sena (SS).

They were supported by many other parties who were not in favor of war.

It was not BJP alone. It was alliance of some 16+ parties including Jammu Kashmir National Conference.


You claim to be a reporter/journalist. You should be aware of such facts.

What the poster was talking about was BJP with absolute manority or BJP+SS with absolute majority.
